They do not say AFAIK, I always assumed it was a source of solar power.

Although that is a neat little factoid.

Happy Halloween!

I spent it dressed up as an alien playing guitar on my roof while children watched and yelled at me.

Best Halloween ever.

Great rules to build off of for anybody, writing lists about what wouldnt happen next is fantastic. If I were to add to that to give more connection to the written medium than the visual, it'd be the saying "amateurs borrow, professionals steal." Referencing and emulating is a skill as...

Indeed. And unfinished to boot! We're I to ever revisit that fic I'd probably break it up quite a bit and heavily edit from the beginning... But honestly the chances of that happening are nearly zero. It makes me wonder if there's any room in the FF world for a service where people who ...

Chapter 2 ~*~ The AAA Wunder’s situation room was spacious, dry, airy. The metal walls were lit dimly by pale yellow light, coming from a schematic table which was almost obscured by piles of paper. There were thousands of sheets, stacked on top of each other and ordered with meticulous attention t...

I haven't written fanfics in years, but when I did I tended to drop then in 10k+ word chunks at a time. Probably not the best strategy though. :um: Oof. That's a lot. I used to write 1500 word chapters, heavy on dialogue so they'd reach many a page with such a limited word count. Some o...

I'm just working from what I've been reading, which is Sharpe for the past six months. Chapter lengths are generally around 30-40 pages.

I guess if a chapter does its job well it doesn't matter how long it is, arbitrary measurements and all that.

Yo how long do you guys write your chapters mostly? I'm worried about my thread dropping off the front page because it takes me a solid week and a half to pump out a coherent chapter (normally about 15-20 pages/6000 words). Should I start cutting the chapters up to keep things rolling an...

Not just killed. Stabbed in the back by his adopted son. Brutus was just his m8, Octavian, later Augustus, was his adopted son. Although apparently the way it went down is that the twelve senators just gave him little pokes with their knives (being the fat old men they were) and Brutus was ...

I'll go with the relationship. Why? Simple: because no matter how many territories you conquer, you're still a loser. Caesar was very much a winner. Dude was baller, fashion icon (get that skinny toga action), sex icon; he revolutionized the republic, he had everything going for him...

after rereading my fic. I'm debating with myself over whether or not I should drop the Hideki subplot entirely. . . The test is whether or not it adds anything, if it's interesting then a rework is all that would be required. Get some second opinions, feel the pacing of the story as a whole...

Konami has a lot more going for it than just video games, it's part of the problem; they have so much other stuff the management probably just doesn't care about video games at all.

Kojima needs a budget and a AAA company (KS campaigns would only be disastrous), but he needs editors just as badly, a couple of people to step in for once and tell him to reign it in.

19 books into the Sharpe series.

Started off great, feeling some fatigue now that it's been almost exclusively what I've read for many a month.

I wish Sharpe would stop being so pissed off at everything sometimes.
