Re: Berserk

^The manga does have scenes of Farnese helping her bathe and stuff and she normally doesn't look unclean, just disturbed and vulnerable. I think it's just the art style of the poster and/or her pose that makes her look weirdly different to the Casca from the manga.

Re: [Film] Prometheus + Sequels

If it's similar to Alien or Aliens it will be a waste of time. Gotta give it a chance, though; it might do something new! Some have speculated that most of the shock and horror shown in the trailers will be a smokescreen for the film actually having the supposed audacity to build upon the lore of t...

Re: FML general thread [8]

Turns out I hadn't been observing proper track etiquette during athletics training and accidentally pissed a lot of people off. It was a pretty foreign concept to me since there was never any formal code of conduct when I was training in secondary school, and I'm surprised that they let the problem ...

^There's something slightly off about all the characters except Schierke and maybe Serpico, but I can't really put my finger on it.

Re: [Film] Prometheus + Sequels

From what I've heard Blomkamp's movie should stay buried, although people who don't like Covenant at the moment seem to view it as an acceptable alternative for some (perhaps they don't actually know what kind of story Blomkamp actually wanted to tell though).

Re: [Film] Prometheus + Sequels

^At the very least the crew actually feels like they actually know and work with each other, whereas the crew of the Prometheus knew each other for a week or less over the duration of the movie (except Shaw and Holloway, but we see very little of their relationship) and have very few personal intera...

Re: [Film] Prometheus + Sequels

http://i.imgur.com/xxVZQSV.jpg At least the set design is a lot closer to Alien/Alien Isolation than Prometheus, and it's a lot darker too. The table is definitely trying its best to emulate the infamous dining area from the original movie. I do think that the larger cast isn't a good idea, since m...

Re: EGF's House of Lonely Hearts

I think a lot of people would be more happy if they could find contentment in being single. I think the reason I sometimes find myself overcome by the urge to find a relationship is that I don't find much motivation or fulfillment from other things, and part of me feels that finding love would give...

Re: EGF's House of Lonely Hearts

It feels kind of weird that pretty much everyone I've met in university is either in a relationship, has been in a relationship or has had some form of sexual experience. I feel like I don't really have enough time between my course and societies to spend time pursuing romance, and even when I do go...

Re: FML general thread [8]

All of the law firm vacation scheme applications I've made so far have been rejected. I have more in the pipeline, but I don't feel particularly confident after the others were all shut down very early. On reflection, I feel like my CV is particularly lacking for any kind of legal work, given that I...

Re: What anime are you watching right now? Summer 2016 to now

Started Konosuba 2 . Rewatched the first season beforehand, which was very easy to do; besides being only 10 episodes long- it was every bit as entertaining as the first viewing. I’m very happy to see that they kept the distinctively ugly-but-not-hideous art style going for season two. Reading some...

Re: Star Wars

It kind of reminds me of some of the views expressed in KOTOR 2, which questioned the whole light/dark dynamic and how the Force itself seemed to influence events to make sure neither side ever actually won.

Re: What anime are you watching right now? Summer 2016 to now

^ This sums up my feelings on it too. The reason for that seems to be rather simple - the head-scriptwritress jumped ship for reasons unknown. The Mech-Episode is the first one not concocted by her. It's a bummer, because this show started off phenomenally. I wasn't aware of that, I guess it's anot...

Re: FML general thread [8]

Lost my wallet- and everything in it- today. Luckily it turned out that it had been in the backseat of the car and my mother had been driving around with it the whole day, but by the time I found it my mother and grandmother had worked themselves up into a frenzy; we were so convinced that it was st...

Re: Star Wars

Ezra is really annoying. He gets a bit better in Season 2 and then backslides a bit at the start of Season 3. It got to the point that some have argued that the only reason the side character Mart Mattin was introduced was so that the creators could create another obnoxious child character with the ...

At this point I'm not sure what's worse: the fact that the Home Office still hasn't decided whether or not to give me a replacement visa and return my passport, or the fact that I could have had this all done by last week if I'd been willing or able to sacrifice another 36 quid to them (on top of th...

Re: Comic Books!

I enjoyed Sandman Overture, although I would still rate it slightly below the original Sandman run, if only because the original Sandman stories also had subplots involving humans and their stories which grounded the narrative and made it a bit more relatable (whereas Overture focuses mostly on the ...
