Just ran old 1.01 alongside 1.11 and once you correct for the new added scenes in the opening I was right. The second Shinji steps into Evangelion Unit 01 there are ZERO additions left in the film concerning added shots or frames. Once Shinji agrees to pilot the two films run in perfect unison with ...

Far as I can pinpoint the additions are as follows. * About 30 seconds in: New shots of empty Tokyo-3 and Misato driving her (CG) car looking for Shinji. * About 7 minutes in: Shinji and Misato talking in the car as they head to NERV. Probably the largest "addition". P.S. Misato is...

I give it six months before we found out A) it's a 100% remake of the original.

Or B) It's attached with the moniker ALIEN ORIGINS.

Reminds me of a certain other film that came out this summer....

If anyone is interested here's Carl Rinsch's commerical reel. http://www.rsafilms.com/d/rsa/companies/rsa-us/62 To be fair the man at least seems to have a visual eye but seeing as how each commercial is loaded with heavy CG I wouldn't put too much hope on their being many practical effe...

Seeing as how Funimation rumored a Nov 10 release date for the DVD and Eva's lack of a drawl to the American cinema going audience a 500 limited release is way higher than we should hope. Like The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (though that was distributed by Bandai) what I expect will happ...

Ridley is busy remaking Gladiator- I mean doing Robin Hood. He's also set up with like 80 future film projects to do (including in a new show of Hollywood needing things to adapt, a live action film version of MONOPOLY starring Scarlett Johannson). Any involvement Ridley Scott has with t...

The animation does help keep it from being truly hardcore. BUT the mere (almost) excessive amount of open vaginas in EOE would be enough to unnerve the ratings board enough to give it a hard R. Anywho, back on topic- PG-13 for 1.0 strikes me as the proper rating. Hopefully the rating means t...

Not a fan of most anime. Most of anime is even more juvenile than American animation in tone and concept. It just adds more blood and boobs to come off as "Ma-ture". Anime is like any other type of entertainment to me. It all depends on the specific project. A lot of anime (especially ...

Your loss. That's a shame though. Cause the director and artist making the movie usually have no control over the marketing. That also means no UP. No Transformers 2 (not a loss), no Public Enemies, no Funny People, no way in hell with Harry Potter 6, no Inglourious Basterds and when it ...

Vegeta. He's a bitch who talks a lot of game but always gets his ass handed to him.

Batman. If it wasn't for his villains he'd be nowhere. Not very interesting on his own. (On his own I mean without a villain or Gordon helping, no need for a Robin).

Kaworu.

The math makes sense but I wouldn't put 20 minutes per Angel. Now here's just some brain wanking on my part. My instincts tell me 2.0 opens with Mari and Unit 05 fighting the Bone Angel (on the Moon). I'm not gonna try to come up with the details why (maybe trying to merge wi...

So I'm doing a looky loo at my DVD version of 1.01 vs. a torrent of 1.11's Blu-Ray and its an interesting view. Though really makes me wish I had a Blu-Ray. Need cash. Now this is all just my opinion. Not fact. Visually no question the Blu-Ray has the nicer look. The colors bounce and the de...

Valid point. Most likely I expect 2.0 to just be a fun geek filled romp for Eva fans like us to really enjoy for a good 90-100 minutes. The plot itself seems so loaded with events, characters, and battle scenes that I don't expect it to be a particularly deep or emotional experience (like NG...

[Film] Drag Me to Hell

Genius! Despite the CG it felt like classic Raimi and is the most fun I've had at the theaters in a while! Just fun fun FUN. Not a remake, not a premake, not a prequel, not a sequel- just taking a classic story and having inventive fun! So much glorious fun. Alison Lohman is such a cutie and ado...

As a sidenote- ALIEN 3 and ALIEN RESURRECTION actually did gangbusters in the international market. If you were to do the whole worldwide gross the films made a ton of bank.
Sadly just not so much so domestically.

I'm glad they put up fences on those moving sidewalks.

That was always one of the things that did strike me as exceedingly stupid in NGE.

I mean it must've been in a NERV employees contract that families cannot sue NERV if anyone died falling off those things.
