Re: Star Wars
They are really gonna throw Walkers in also? :um: I don't think fans can handle a Star Wars movie that doesn't have Stormtroopers, Star Destroyers or AT-ATs in some form or another. Whether it be copy-pasta, i.e. Clones, Accalmator class ships and AT-TEs, or just tossing them in because they know t...

Re: Hollywood's "Ghost in the Shell"
Normies can't handle too much philosophy with their action. Eh, it's less that most people can't do large doses of philosophy (which the original movie only has handfuls of anyway) and more that the 95 movie is just so slow. As artful and beautifully depicted as it is, most people would fall asleep...

Re: Last Movie You Watched
Man, Disney has made better sequels than Moana - and those are terrible . The squat, blocky animation was an eyesore, the main character was obnoxious, and the writing was so stiff, with mind-numbingly dumb jokes like, "When you autograph with a chicken it's called tweeting". GET. OUT. Mos...

Re: Hollywood's "Ghost in the Shell"
with thing like GITS and Akira the source material has massive importance. Of course, otherwise what would be the point? We'd end up with messes like DBZ and Avatar, like you said. And I wasn't implying ALL fans of the original movie want a copy-pasta remake, but it does seem to be an overwhelming ...

Re: Hollywood's "Ghost in the Shell"
Just listened to the new track for the movie by Tricky. I thought it was very eerie and trance-like (a familiar feeling from the original tracks) but most of the comments were pretty dismissive. I've been consistently surprised at all the negativity being thrown at everything this movie is doing, an...

Re: Hollywood's "Ghost in the Shell"
If it turns out there's none of that 'ol GitS plot charm, then it'll just be a neat looking movie that didn't live up to its source material, but I'll reserve judgment until I actually see the movie.

Re: TETSUOOOO! The Akira Thread
It's really impressive, and it makes me wonder how a live action AKIRA movie work. The trailer music felt a bit out of place, but other than that it was very good. Really nice effects and everything. I think a lot of live action anime movies could work very well if Japan ever put a decent budget to...

what I mean to say is dogpiling your opponents with half of the forum is an unwarranted gesture This is pretty basic courtesy, the disregard for which was probably the most obnoxious part of the SD forum. An unpopular opinion would be posited and then five or six people would throw their two cents ...

I'm going to peg this down to movie makers being terribad at putting trailers together nowadays.
Although the "You had a family" line makes me worry. We already got a RoboCop remake.

Because of this, primarily. Right, so because he proclaims strong feelings for Shinji once, an obsession is solidified in every multiverse? Fanwank at its finest. I guess it's no weirder than people deciding AxS is the absolute law of the universe. More on topic, I think your fic pitch holds some m...

I don't understand the fanon assumption that Kaworu, not matter what, has to have some kind of fixation on Shinji.
Why?
Why?
