Re: [Film] The Trailers & Upcoming Films Thread

At least it won't be Michael Bay. Frankly, they can have Hasbro for all I care. His run in the film meant I never wanted to buy a transformer toy/kit again as long as I lived...and I know people hate it when you say you ruined my childhood but he did as I loved transformers as a kid and I don't thi...

Re: Last Movie You Watched

Of course, the less said about that blasted Frozen cartoon before it, the better. . . I liked Frozen or more to the point Eliza, but I get why people don't like it or don't warm to it, there is some really jarred stuff in it where Disney is trying to call out its past gender issues (Like marriage i...

Re: Last Movie You Watched

Coco 2017 I loved this its visually beautiful and awe inspiring in how it views the day of the dead and it does a far better job with its characters than The Book of life whose horrible tropes and lazy sexism hurt the movie no end and stops it being as good as it could have been which I always foun...

Re: Star Wars Episode II - A New Thread

E9 will apparently be a "course correction" for the franchise. https://www.comicbookmovie.com/sci-fi/star_wars/jj-abrams-star-wars-episode-ix-is-reportedly-a-course-correction-for-the-franchise-a164520 Mixed on that, I am down with them dropping the quirky "unexpected" & kil...

Re: Godzilla & Kaiju General!

Netflix’s anime Godzilla trilogy has suffered in some ways from the staggered method of its release. The installments have been spaced out about six months apart from each other so that the movies could enjoy a theatrical run in Japan before their worldwide Netflix release. In retrospect, this is a...

Re: Star Wars Episode II - A New Thread

^ I'm not really that surprised, it was bound to happen after Solo . But... wait, wait, wait, they're giving Rey another trilogy? Can't we focus on other characters who aren't jedi? That's a fair point and is also an issue in the comics even in the 90's the Jedi focus is to much and the world is so...

Re: What are you watching right now? (tv series + see OP!)

You can skip the 1999 movie, it's a travesty. If you want a fuller experience of the miniseries, read the book first. It's pretty short and it's a classic. I'd agree with that though I did find some of the imagery in the 1999 movie really unsettling but its not true to the original at all but if yo...

Re: News [NO POLITICS]

The Titanic II is apparently and somehow) still a thing and is set to have it's maiden voyage in 2022 . There are many things about this that seem both in poor taste, and also heavily tempting fate. Something tells me the ship will be setting sail April 10, 2022 to boot... If we lived in...

Re: Your entertainment wishlist?

A Pokemon game without handholding We already have those. We've had five generations of them. I'd rather have a Pokemon series with out Ash Ketchum like I get it he's the franchise icon but he has outlived and out stayed his welcome, like get rid of him and create a Pokemon series aimed at adults w...

Re: Star Wars Episode II - A New Thread

Everything Jim Henson. ( That’s right, Disney OWNS The Muppets ) That's true to a point as they also own Labyrinth (Which they talked about rebooting but nothing ever came of it) the things they don't own are The Dark Crystal as that has a netflix series coming out next year which is called Age Of ...

Re: Godzilla & Kaiju General!

I see where everyone is coming from when they diss on Godzilla's Revenge, and I agree to a certain extent, but I'm going to critically defend and even celebrate Godzilla's Revenge anyway just to rub in how much better it genuinely is than this animated trilogy, watch me. I had no idea about the fai...

Re: Godzilla & Kaiju General!

The problem is that it's one mediocre short film (on the order of say, 60-75 minutes, just enough to explore a nifty concept of the character) stretched out into three movies. Sort of like certain other trilogies. Trilogies about stout squat fellows seeking a treasure of some sort. Yeah I had heard...

Re: Godzilla & Kaiju General!

This trilogy has absolutely no idea what it’s doing anymore. Like, it was always bad, but now it just doesn’t have a clue either. Its interesting you say that because I've been trying to work out what the animation room is like on this one and if there's someone going do what I say because I say so...

Re: Godzilla & Kaiju General!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mTUi2stGEM This is the trailer for the third Godzilla anime. I suggest watching it with auto-translated subtitles, because that is far more entertaining than the actual movie will be. I love King Ghidorah but god do I ever hate that design and it will cause a mix up...

Re: Last Movie You Watched

Black Panther I always wondered why people say panther casts a shadow over Infinity Wars, I get it now I really do its because this film is a work of art. There so much time and effort and world building in it and it has a really good villain and along with Doctor Strange I think its the best film ...

I heard VIZ just got the rights to this and are releasing an English version next year. I already own this in Japanese and am fine with that but just in case anyone was interested as no doubt Forbidden Planet will stock it.

Re: [Film] The Trailers & Upcoming Films Thread

I don’t know what I find more tiresome, these remakes or Disney’s marketing campaigns for movies like *Wrinkle* or the upcoming Nutcracker movie where they have the director or a star sit down and speak directly into the camera about how ~important~ the movie is and how much I’m going to like it an...
