Re: Official "What should I watch next?" thread
The Anime Series I've watched so far that I would rate a 9 or above (First three I rate ten stars)... 1: Neon Genesis Evangelion (What else?!) 2: Paranoia Agent 3: Cowboy Bebop 4: Kino's Journey 5: FMA: Brotherhood 6: Welcome to the NHK 7: FLCL 8: Serial Experiments Lain and for anime series I want ...

Currently addicted to FMA: Brotherhood, and plan to finish both Kaiba and the Tatami Galaxy when I'm finished with Brotherhood.

Re: Famous Fans of Eva
Wes Anderson He also included EOE on his list of top 10 Animated Films (that's ALL animated movies, not just anime) for Time Out New York. Wonder how he'll do his own version of it. I also read that Jhohen Vasquez is a fan of Eva. I know him as the creator behind my favorite western animated show: ...

I know Robin Williams said he was a huge one, but is there anyone celebrity beside him that's also a fan?

I would list my top five...but that would require MASSIVE spoilers. Depends on how far you're in the series though.

And I thought I was the youngest here. True, I'm not 12, but 4 years apart isn't that bad.

Meh. I understand why people want this ship. He is the only who treated Shinji with any kind of respect, but then again, he was never going to survive either way.

Re: Whats Your Top 5 Evangelion Fights/Moments
This is really hard for me (Beside No. 1). In terms of Fights: 1: Asuka vs. The MPEs 2: Unit 01 vs. Zeurel 3: Units 01, 02, 03 vs. Matarael 4: Units 01 and 00 vs. Ramiel 5: Unit 02 vs. Sandalphon Now in terms of moments... 1: Shinji's final words to his mother 2: Asuka's Mind Rape 3: Unit 01 breakin...

Gaghiel. It doesn't really have anything interesting about it. It's just a regular ol' fish (Though the battle Asuka and Shinji had with it is undeniably great)

Re: Who's your least favorite Evangelion character?
In terms of the original, I would probably put Ritsuko. No denying she's a well-developed and interesting character...just not as much as everyone around here. If we're talking about the Rebuild's in general, while I don't hate them as much as some people do, I can't stand Mari. True she does have s...

Re: Was 1.11 screened for the Academy in 2007?
I don't know if it was, but why are we talking about the Rebuilds when we're questioning if EoE ever got PAST the academy. Sure, it wouldn't get animated feature since it didn't exist yet...but then again, we've got Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay!

Re: MARATHON:Ever watched Eva start to finish?
Ooo boy. As much as I love Eva, I don't know if I can bring myself to watch the whole series in one night (Though it would be shortened seeing as how Death and Rebirth are pretty much useless). If I had to estimate, the most I can do is watch the first thirteen episodes in one day, the last thirteen...

That's true, but I can still see some people being turned off because, atmittingly, there a few scenes that do go over-the-top in various ways. Some will find it more, but that's beside the point.

Re: Relating to the Characters
It's really hard to choose for me. On some level, I relate to many of them. Misato wanting to break free from her past, Rei's realization she can be unique even if she's a clone, pretty much everything about Asuka's backstory...hell, I even relate to Gendo in the ways that I sometimes cut people off...

Re: Why Is There so much Polarization Regarding the Series?
I think that the people who can relate to the characters are more likely to be "hooked" and love the series. I understand that, to the normal people I guess it's only a good show with a little bit too much of sadness. What you said reminds me of what my mom said when we finished watching ...

A directing colab between Gullimero Del Toro and David Fincher (Or Charlie Kaufman), with a screenplay written by Del Toro and Charlie Kaufman. For Del Toro: -Wider use of the world -Kickass fight scenes In terms of Fincher's direction: -Greatly executed psychological scenes -He's arguably the best ...

Re: Why Is There so much Polarization Regarding the Series?
To me, it mostly has to do with how people view it with their mindset. Many of the people who like/love Eva are ones who have walked in the character's shoes. Someone who hasn't gone through many of these things just can't relate. And before you say anything, yes, there are many people who will no d...
