Put extras on separate disc.
Sell for higher price as 2 disc collectors edition.
People still buy it.
Profit.

No matter how big the license is, Amazon is piss poor with anime specs.

And Funimation is known for making printed mistakes even on the box art. The Burst Angel Blu-rays said Dolby Digital for the Japanese track while the disc actually had a TrueHD track.

This is particularly surprising because the Japanese subtitles of the English dialogue aren't present on the Hong Kong Blu-ray or DVD. I guess 2.0 has the subtitles and 2.22 doesn't. ...except that the subtitles are there on the Japanese 2.22. Huh. Now I wonder whether FUNimation's 2.22...

Yeah, I know. I just like the look of film prints. I'm pretty sure there are higher res releases of the film when it was shown in Japanese cinemas, though I wouldn't know why they would have released them in the States if there were any. Think of it from a cost standpoint as well. The cost ...

Wow, it was better than Sundance-Kabuki? It must have been good then, because their 1.0 showing was seriously near perfect IMO (though it was the 1.0 dub and there were some slight translation issues, eg Shinji saying "Dad" or "Rei". Are you kidding me, I sell TVs bigger tha...

You sure about that?

Video resolution is measured by height, film is measured by width.

Wonder if us gaijin filth will ever get actual 35 mm. Does anyone here actually know the resolution of Digital Cinema? From the looks of things, I'd have to say no. 90% of all films shown digitally, even the new 3D films, are projected at 2K resolution. That's approximately 2000 pixels wide...

A Blu-ray/DVD release in March? What about screenings?? I got to see a showing of 1.0 in San Francisco (as did many others). Even though it was kind of a small theater with a stupid projector, I still want an excuse to go back to the Bay Area and I want to support the showing of anime films ...

This is entirely possible with the use of a Blu-ray burner and a blank 50GiB BD-R. Decrypt the entire disc structure to your hard-drive using AnyDVD-HD. The file should be about 40+GiB. Open MultiAVCHD and import the disc folder into reauthor mode. Because Khara used BD-J, it will be impossible to r...

I would sincerely appreciate it if you made a 1980p MP4, so that I could watch it on my PS3. Possible? Unfortunatly no. The PS3 only supports soft subtitles with its Blu-ray player, not the media player. I looked into this for awhile before doing the AppleTV version. The project must be readied wit...

Evangelion 2.22 for iPhone4/iPad/AppleTV (+Something Else)

I did a bit of encoding to mess around with what my iPhone4 could actually play back. Turns out the iPhone can actually play SRT subtitles if they are multiplexed into *.MP4 correctly. This is not as clean as some of the stuff that Apple uses for the iTunes Music Store, but hey, it was free and it&#...

I'll say this before the mods do: This is not a topic for torrents, rips, or downloads. Take it somewhere else. On topic now, I should have a translation of the Omit Scenes summary found in the Blu-ray pamphlet by tomorrow. Perhaps they will give a better insight into the gist of the scenes and ...
