Is this supposed to be a reboot? Definitely something to look out for. About the art. Having seen the movies and read the manga prior to watching the show I was never a fan of the art style in SAC, it always seemed to me like a rather bland compromise between Oshii's gritty realism and Shirows z...

You're overthinking this. The glass cracking was just a cool visual accent, it's a common thing to see in anime. How Asuka went about pulling Shinji out of the plug was apparently not significant enough to be shown. At best we may conclude that she's stronger than Shinji, but that's ...

^We got a brief shot of Mark.06 levitating above Eva-01 at the end of the second film. Same size as far as I could tell.

Too bad we won't have the opportunity to watch this movie until after the world has ended. So 2.0 uses music from Kare Kano, 3.0 uses music from Nadia, and if they intend to stick with the pattern, the final movie should feature musical cameos from some other anime which we might be able to pred...

I usually can't make out the words in choral music so the silly lyrics don't really bother me in any direct way, I mostly worry about what the people in the choir were thinking when they were recording this.

I just completed Vanquish.
It had a bit of a slow start for me while I was still learning the ropes but once I finally figured it out it was a total blast. Might be one of the best games I've played this generation.

...It has? ...It's not? You know what I'm talking about, the entire series is practically laughing stock for it's hour long cutscenes. While it's true that Hideo Kojima could really use an editor, it's not fair to think of the series as a bunch of FMV games (or jrpgs) th...

Mother 2 is not a remake, the characters just look really similar. I think the jrpg is a pretty shitty genre overall, but the Mother series is great. I recently played through Red Dead Redemption, and nope, I don't get what all the fuss was about. You're mostly just riding back and forth acr...

The most recent anime I watched that fits the criteria were the Devilman OVAs. The third one had a few scenes that I actually found quite difficult to watch, which must mean it's pretty dark. The first two were interesting because they basically looked like Studio Ghibli gone ultra-violent.

I don't think the ending was positive at all. But it was definitely hopeful about the future, and that's what really matters.

I don't know how you can say that it's "positive", for all we know they could have just killed each other 5 minutes after the last scene and no one else could have returned to his/her human form until the end of the solar system. Getting "seriously" depressed because of ...

Re: Exaggerations. B/

The storyboard for that cut actually has a note asking the key frame animator to make it racy/perverted ("ecchiku onegaishimasu"). Well, I have no doubt that it was meant to be racy. This discussion is out of control. It's just a brief shot of Asuka turning over in bed from a ...

Either that, or it's the blood of Adams. Being the most powerful angels, it wouldn't be outlandish for them to contain enough blood to paint all the oceans red. A streak of it was even able to hit the moon, that's a sign of something violent.

Re: Exaggerations. B/

It should have, since it served no purpose whatsoever and was pretty blatantly obvious and such. It was, as you say, slimy. The dressing room scene wasn't. The fact that we saw Rei's naughty bits in the latter doesn't really enter into it for me. Asuka is tossing and turning in bed beca...

Re: Exaggerations. B/

As far as Japanese law and sensibilities are concerned Rei is not a minor. I dunno where you're getting your information but according to Wikipedia the Japanese consider you a minor until you're twenty. By "Asuka's panty shot", do you mean the scene where she turns over in bed...

The End of Evangelion was a bit hard to melt, that's for sure. But I didn't find it depressing. On the contrary, it was like a really insane roller coaster ride; at the end you feel pretty shaken up and weak at the knees, but intensely invigorated. As far as I'm concerned it's imposs...
