But I seriously doubt she was making an overt offer of sex consciously . I'd say it was straddling a very, very fine line... Shinji's rather extreme reaction suggests he was getting distinctly weird vibes from her, and Misato's own reaction to this is revealing in and of itself. Not to ...

Yeah, there is that EoTV scene, but I thought the question was whether or not she was making a conscious offer. I do realize that a part of Misato wanted to do Shinji, and that it may have been expressing itself in that scene... subconsciously . But I seriously doubt she was making an overt offer of...

Again, she goes straight from talking about Evas to talking about Rei. If this was all meant to be an explanation of Rei's nature, then it would appear Ritsuko thinks Rei is a miniature Adam-born Eva with a soul. She could be saying that the Evas don't have a soul because Rei's was the ...

I think that was supposed to be a way of saying that it was impossible to get multiple souls for identical bodies in the context of Regular Naked Rei-tachi. Wasn't there some sort of wank about what that line meant at one point? It seems like there should have been because Deranged Ritsuko is D...

What indicates that Misato offered Shinji sex in ep23?

The first, second, and thirtieth time I saw that episode and that scene, I simply didn't get that vibe. The idea just doesn't fit with the scene, particularly because after that, Misato calls Pen-Pen over to herself, then realizes she's the one who's lonely. In other words, she doesn...

I guess soul recyclage would make a lot of sense. I think I try too hard to justify what I want to happen as opposed to analyze what is actually presented. I just want Kaji to be in instrumentality. It helps make both him and Misato happy. Y'ask me, Hyuga's the one who deserves her. Which i...

Soul recyclage always felt like the most intuitive option to me, considering the whole metaphysical biology slant. In biology, the matter that constitutes physical bodies is continuously reused. It would make sense if recycling occurred on the metaphysical (spiritual) level, as well. Recycl...

The whole "gimmick" of the infamous Spear is that it's an unblockable weapon that can pierce anything, "even God". But that means that the strategies to get around that advantage can be made all the more interesting.

MAYBE THERE'S A DOUBLE MEANING AND THEY'RE FUCKING WITH OUR HEADS!!! I'd considered that possibility but come on, Kaworu saying something that means more than one thing at the same time? :gendo_kimura: Anbiriibaburu! Also, my money's on the Third Angel being the Moon Giant and vir n...

"Interesting" has no bearing on whether or not she's lying. Pathological liars can be interesting people. Incidentally, you could've said the same thing without the massive quote. I know, but I wanted to be funny. I only want to be loved. :shinji_boohoo: Yeah, my bad on that knee-...

So, everyone who acts professionally at his/her place of employment on a daily basis (this would be all the time... no?), they are actually lying? It isn't that they are being their professional selves? You do realize that people can have different personalities around different individ...

"The third, huh?" The moon giant obviously. Hah, here I thought I was crazy for interpreting that line as referring to the moon giant instead of Shinji. However, I later reinterpreted that he was indeed talking about Shinji. My translated PDF of DVD liner notes mentions Kaworu "seems...

Didn't a bunch of souls go with Eva-01 into space? My impression was that it's like Judgment Day, where all humans who ever lived resurrect and are judged-- except they're judged by themselves. The ones who want to rez in corporeal form can, but enough choose to stay with the "ark&q...

The embryo was "restoring" itself (Kaji, ep8), so it would've grown into something As I recall Reichu saying that is a mistranslation and it is actually "restored" passive. It has been restored? As in someone was restoring it by the time Kaji nabbed it? The platinum ...

The thematic feel I got from Asuka in that episode -- and the previous ones -- is that yeah, she can be wrong and headstrong about a lot of things that wind up not mattering much, but when the chips are down she showcases startling competence and ability.

So taking into account my last post, the lake scene plothole can be resolved by a combination of these: 1) The aforementioned Adam-as-controller theory. 2) Only a giant Adam is an Impact-trigger. Nothing implies an Angel can just trip over the embryo one day and BOOM; both Impacts we see loo...

this is indeed a separate discussion, but I always kind of assumed that Asuka was just starting to get her periods either in episode 22 or in the episodes leading up to episode 22 But yeah, the way Misato says "maybe her period is affecting her synch ratio" seems to imply that it hadn'...

If anything, she probably had her first period earlier than most girls. She probably just has really bad periods. Speaking of which, could Asuka have been on her period in ep20 when we see the aftereffects of a bad tantrum she had in her room? In the train station scene in ep22' she says Shinji ...

Enki v.2 wrote:On the other hand, did she ever actually say she GRADUATED?

She does. "Yeah, I graduated last year." So that means unless she graduated in December she could've graduated as early as age 12.

Hm. Adam's role... There is something else that makes Adam special besides an S2. Kaworu (Adam) was able to control Adam-based Evas. He implied it's because he and they came from the same body/"karada". Only his soul is that of Adam, implying he thinks the soul is part of o...
