I thought the mothers all had to die somehow in contact experiments so the children could pilot the eva's with there souls inside. again, not enough information is given on to the qualifications of the resident soul. yes yui-sama and kyoko were put in through "failed" contact experime...

with the DC of the film I only hope that the original ending (i.e. comic ending) is in it instead of the theatrical one. that pissed me off, i walked out of the theater. i'm a purist :/
