(Sometimes the fact that you have all this stuff at your beck & call scares me... wait, did you write down every line Rei says, because that would be so great) No, Shin-seiki was kind enough to point me in the direction of the Literal Translation Project. I have a good deal of the line ...

Ah, but Rei as pilot and Rei as a "sad little girl" are both fabrications -- part of a false identity, not truly aspects of who she is. That was the most important part of Rei's segment in episode 25 Rei: Why do you have a false mind and a false body? Rei: Not false, for I am I. Rei s...

(personally, she tends to either scare the willies out of me... Wait isn't that a good thing? She scares the willies out of you, if she gave you the willies I could understand, but if she gets rid of them... http://evageeks.org/ANF-Archive/images/-wink.gif Though some of Rei's scenes ar...

especailly since we don't usually have cleaning time at American schools. We use to clean our room in elementary school. http://evageeks.org/ANF-Archive/images/-wink.gif Note that Shinji looks at Rei a lot, and if I remember correctly, that's the only time he comments about how motherly she...

'Motherly type of cute'? I don't know, I wouldn't want to see a 14 year old girl and say "Woah, she's cute, I wish she was my Mum." http://evageeks.org/ANF-Archive/images/-original.gif I think the point is that to Shinji she emanated a mother like vibe, or warmth (...

Yeah, 'cause she looks exactly like Yui, right? Though, when you consider it that way, she might as well be a clone of Misato, or Fuyutsuki, since her & Yui have very little in common physically. Are you kidding? They have the very similar face, the only difference is that Rei is younger lo...

makes me wonder why all of the Evas ended up with dark skin instead, but whatever. I have wondered about that before. Perhaps it was a nasty side effect of all the armor they stuck on the Eva's. Seeing as how the unarmored Harpies are as white as I am. Originally posted on: 31-Dec-2003, 22:58 G...

And besides, from what you say it only judged attractiveness based on face alone -- and perhaps it goes without saying that the neck and up is only part of the equation when considering who's "hot" and who's not. The ratio of 1:1.436 (Or close to that) worked on all parts ...

There is no truth as far as "hotness" goes, since physical attractiveness is entirely subjective. So subjective, in fact, it's one of the things that's helped to shape the differentiation between species -- what the chicks/guys dig becomes one of the driving forces of natural sele...

Yes indeed, like they did with the Lord of the Rings I have not seen that with Lord of the Rings. What I have seen is three movies that stayed close to the original, as well as renewed interest in the books. I cant tell you how many people I have seen on campus with a copy of the books in their han...

I thought it was obvious that was meant to be a lowbrow answer.

In Japan, children face the issues of adulthood much sooner, fourteen to be exact, where as American children don't have the same expectations and responsabilities heaped on them for several more years. I agree with this. I mean, when is the last time you saw a 14 year old American child saving...

In my opinion, involvemeny in LOTR movies is not good. Some of what Jackson did is unforgiveable. Bah! People need to lay of Jackson. I think he did it better than any other director I can think of would have. Imagine if Michel Bay did it! :scared: I personally love the movies. But no movie will pr...

Is it just me, or aren't pretty much all of the characters already white, and relatively western looking to begin with? They are undoutably Japanese, but I think that's mainly thanks to our beloved seiyuu. As Reichu pointed out most Anime characters are race neutral(Unless they are blac...

For a play, it's not so illogical for them to be played by the local actors regardless of where you are... That play of MacBeth was a nation wide event (Apparently). They had big name Korean actors playing the roles. The only thing local about it was the country. Turning the NGE cast wh...

Reichu - I somewhat disagree (Though it flies in the face of my other post -o- http://evageeks.org/ANF-Archive/images/-wink.gif . I saw an Korean version of MacBeth last year in school. They kept all of the original names and the location, and it was a big success in Korean (Or so I was tol...

Plagues them in what way? A lot of independent films (Though most "independent films" are not that independent anymore). have started to use big name actors. They get the exposers and a seasoned actor. And the actor get to take a brake from the blow-them-up big budget film, and re...

"Unknown" actors don't necessarily suck. F'rinstance, there have been indie films produced using folks, many of whom have never acted before in their lives, who give a better performance than many of the folks who work professionally. Talent is talent, regardless of how well known...

Cripes, if this movie ever DOES get made, I hope like mad they get a bunch of unknowns to play the parts rather than the typical Hollywood talent. The down fall of that might be they are unknown because they suck. Though I agree, if say Connery, for example played Keel. I would not see old man Lore...
