My usual recommendation for getting into gundam is to watch things in order they were released in the real world. That might seem like bad advice since older stuff tends to turn some people off, but if you do it this way you get to see the franchise develop as a whole and you'll get a whole lot...

I recommend the compilation movies even if you watched Gundam Zeta. The new footage offers some of the best animation I have seen in anime and Tomino did a satisfactory job at selecting scenes in a way that the story did not feel loose. so should i watch zeta first? or skip zeta and watch the zeta ...
