On the side I'm working on material to add to the character profiles You're our only hope, Incisivis!! For whatever reason, those pages are among the more neglected. For my part, I tend to find the characters rather difficult to write about unless I'm in a very specific mindset. Ha-ha. ...

Eva Y, I'm patient enough to wait for it to be fansubbed because of the whole "only know a few words and basic concepts regarding the Japanese language" thing. So, yeah, I am off vacation. For the moment, I'm just going to keep doing the minor nitpicks and corrections that I&...

V? I was introduced to NGE through the dub, and I still like watching it sometimes (but I can watch anime subtitled, and check every opinion that I have with the sub script, so no guff.), but I still don't see any reason to include it in the project. It seems like it would make the proje...

I was an idiot (was?) and concieved of the acronym LARK (Lillith/Adam/Rei/Kaworu), but I don't expect anyone to use that.

"Hybrid being" is kind of long, but GNR sounds too...slangy. I'd vote for "Hybrid being", but only with acceptable synonyms around.

I'm on vacation this week, and also trying to get my notes on EoTV into some recognizable order. (What? To me, doing that *is* part of my vacation) I'm keeping up with this forum and the AN board as much as I can, but at this point I don't have much to contribute to the discussio...

I should really be going to bed now... T&A pages would discuss things in terms of the relationships between various characters, however the nature of such might be interpreted based on what we see in the show. (Or NOT so based, as the case may sometimes be.) I'd like to get in on tha...

Um...hi.

Um...hi. Yes, I used to post fairly regularly on the AnimeNation NGE forums and got into the commentary project, *then* I kind of disappeared about three years ago, and...now I'm back. That's all I have to say on that. I've already talked with Reichu a bit, and so far I think I want to h...

ou can't just look at someone else's ideas of the characters and go, "Ah hah! You only feel that way because you watched the dub!" Yes, I can actually. Well, literally you can, but you can't make it a complete truth. Character perceptions are delicate and multifaceted, coming ...

While the Eva dub may not be the worst dub compared head to head with other bad dubs, it is the worst when compared to the well-nigh perfect original. It's the biggest drop in seiyuu quality in history. The characters become a lot more one dimensional in the dub: Shinji is 10x more of a wiener;...

Yeah, I heard this book sucked. Not hard to believe...I think many "hard-core" fans (i.e., nitpicky geek involved in on-line fandom on a regular basis) end up finding the "official guides" released for their hobby to be sparse and disappointing. It's almost like a nat...

The best dub episode, I'd say, is probably Episode 22. Maybe it's just the direction of that episode--it's untarnishable (word?). Eh, I don't like ep 22 much anyway, since I don't care for Asuka. If you had gotten used to the dubs in the series, then the films should see...

What's interesting is that I was always taught that "anti-hero" didn't refer to stoic badass Han Solo types. It was applied more often to characters like Holden Caufield in The Catcher in the Rye , in which case Shinji would fit the mould. Why don't you think it aplies to Han ...

Have to say that I don't like anyone else. Certainly none of the female characters. Not even the Almighty Yui-sama?? BLASPHEMY!!! :spews fire: And you don't like Kaji-san at all? Awwww... Welll...I don't *dislike* Yui, I'm just "Meh." Same with Kaji. It's the human fem...

He didn't like the dub, remember? ;)

But he's not telling other people not to watch it, is he?

I was hoping for more of just an over view of what we are missing out of eva wsie withe the dubs/subs. Any of the basics behind eva that are missed in english. But that other stuff is cool to . . . Why wait? If you ask me, anime/manga fandom is too focused on getting the "right" experienc...

Shinji, with Kaworu a close second. I actually consider Shinji #1 among all my favourite characters for anything, really. He's appealing on a lot of levels, and it's rare to see a character who repesents so fully the frenzied, obnoxious, and quivering aspect of humans in their greatest emoti...

I'm going to go with both. Uh-huh. End of Evangelion is, obviously, the better ending from a traditional narrative perspective. It's entertaining and interesting and a good little mindf*ck. But the TV ending is also a winner, at least to me, for the sheer "Wow!" factor of it. The &...

I'm in the forums!

Took me long enough.

Anyway, Reichu knows me, I'm the Amanda Wells whose essays are posted on the main site, and I like character analysis and not much else. :P Active also on the AN EVA forums and the Fan Commentary.
