Re: EvaGeeks Forum Rules & Regulations

Do you consider the usage of slurs/casual sexism to be part of the "dazzling personas" or the "colorful discussions?" I might be mistaken (correct me if I'm wrong), but I don't think anyone is decrying the translated interviews that Xard (or anyone else, for that matter,) posts ...

Re: EvaGeeks Forum Rules & Regulations

We also could just grow up and maybe be not so offended by everything, but this is an Evangelion forum on which most people who are heavily mentally scarred find refuge, so we really should not expect that other people do the heavy lifting for [REDACTED] assholes. I do hope your memory is as good a...

Re: Yuko Miyamura wants to rape Rei (Animage 1996 Anno x Miyamura discussion)

I did make this thread as clickbaity haw haw that's gross but kinda funny Chit-Chat topic, however. Too bad people with baggage had to ruin it. There's plenty of sabre-rattling in here and your "out of date" language is being used as casus belli for it no doubt. You're just using same old...

I wouldn't spoil it all, but Miharu was a meme in Gundam San for a while. Her seiyuu is married to Toru Furuya

Re: Gundam (In All Its Incarnations) Mk. II

It's part of the trouble with being western fans, you have to ask other folks for help in where to start, almost everyone from my generation saw Wing as their first taste as kids and young teens.

Re: Gundam (In All Its Incarnations) Mk. II

That's good. I'd still advise any newcomers to the franchise to start Gundam through the original MSG film trilogy as opposed to the TV series, as it smooths out many of the animations and condenses the show in a satisfying manner. This is only for the original series however, do not attempt this wi...

Rewatched CCA recently thanks to the BD special edition release, reminded me of the discussions I used to have on this thread, Tomino's got a certain energy to him that makes every fight brim with energy.

Nowadays I feel Unicorn was a misstep that shouldn't have been followed through with NT.

Re: Last Movie You Watched

Joker
One of the few films worth going to the cinema for in 2019, great performances by Joaquin Phoenix and De Niro, this felt consciously made in the mold of his Scorsese films in particular. Definitely worth a watch.

Cucuruz Doan's Island, Tomino really hated that episode.

Re: Gundam (In All Its Incarnations) Mk. II Bl

I was thinking the same of Zeta; the antagonists kept changing their suits, I couldn't keep a visceral "power level" scale in my mind for whether they were close to a Gundam or not. The Zeta Gundam is never really cutting edge in terms of tech except for its bio-computer, it's obsolete in...

Re: Gundam (In All Its Incarnations) Mk. II

Also I found it weird how some really obvious mobile suits were missing, like Athrun's Aegis/Justice/Savior/Infinite Justice :cringe: Those are really obvious suits? SEED and SEED Destiny has so many gundam mobile suits that I can't blame them for missing some when they all end up blending together.

I'm sorry I should have clarified, thankfully it was just a 10 million dollar budget Canadian film, I think it put Sunrise off doing anything like that again. Definitely belongs on RLM's Best of the Worst.

Edit: The film is called G-Saviour

Re: Pacific Rim

^ I agree, but Hollywood seems to be on the hunt for the grimmer titles in whatever genre it's attempting to harvest. (Ghost in the Shell, Akira, Death Note, ect...) So I don't think Gundam is in as much danger of a needless American remake as Evangelion is. It had one, it's so bad it's good tier w...
