People will be negative about anyyyyything.

Ive been loving SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS Gridman so far. Both eps were a treat to watch; love the backgrounds with the giant kaiju off in the distance.

Re: What anime are you watching right now? Summer 2016 to now

Caught Night is Short, Walk on Girl in the theatres last night. It was packed with people, I was like wtf? Anyway, the movie was a lot of fun; the animation was beautiful and there were a lot of good jokes. Obviously it was a bit like The Tatami Galaxy , but this one focuses more on the girl, and I ...

Re: What anime are you watching right now? Summer 2016 to now

In my rewatch of Eureka SeveN I have just overtaken you :) Is this your first full rewatch of it? The first time I watched it I really liked it, but then with my rewatch it became a favorite of mine. That Joy Division line is still one of my favorites in anime. It's such a nice length too; it's lon...

Re: Controversial Anime Opinions

Visual Arts Key/P. A. Works totally sucks at making anime. I think you're mostly just thinking of Key shows. The only series those two works on together were Angel Beats! and Charlotte. Ive always loved Angel Beats (that OP!) but Charlotte was definitely strange. I don't think it really knew what i...

Re: What directors would you like seeing tackle Evangelion in the future?

That'd be cool if Tomino did a version of the series but I could imagine it being absolutely nuts.

Tsurumaki would be a great choice too. Yuasa of course as well, though I imagine his would be even stranger than Tomino's somehow...

Re: What anime are you watching right now? Summer 2016 to now

I just got finished with a rewatch of Orange , which I really liked when it was broadcast back in 2016 and which I still really like. There were just a couple things this watching made me wonder; a. why did they have to include the thing about the squad sending their letters to the Bermuda Triangle?...

Re: Controversial Anime Opinions

Overall I think Mamoru Hosoda & his films are mildly overrated. I'd say this is indeed very true, but I think being overrated is a bit of a part of the territory if you're a big name anime director and it's less their fault than people who don't really watch too much anime putting these guys on...

Re: Darling in the Franxx (Studio Trigger)

Evangelion and Gundam weren't about the robots, but they sure were a part of story! Not here. This was probably my least favorite thing about the series(except for the aliens) and one of the reasons why NGE is the GOAT; the shows main allure to (most) true fans is the psychological shit but in NGE ...

Grant Morrison confirmed for Green Lantern from November: https://www.bleedingcool.com/2018/07/19/dc-grant-morrison-green-lantern-liam-sharp/ This sounds like it could be pretty cool, like it could be a True Detective- esque take on old GL. Reminds me a bit of the political stuff they were doing wi...

Re: What anime are you watching right now? Summer 2016 to now

So, rewatching stuff… I remember Re:Zero being entertaining although hardly fantastic. I feel similar... I still think about this one from time to time. Isekai ain't my favorite genre which is probably why I only watched it once (mecha 4 ever). I thought it was a pretty charming show, with some coo...

Re: Evageeks Watching Sport: 2018 World Cup Edition

The French have a pretty good chance of winning it, I think. Can't believe Germany got knocked out; I started watching soccer in 2006 and every world cup I've watched they've been in the semis... and Spain going out to Russia was wild. Sigh, the three teams I was rooting for are gone(poor Japan! Tha...

Re: Evageeks Watching Sport: 2018 World Cup Edition

Please no, If it's any consolation I predicted the Americans would win the last 3 world cups.... It would be very cool if an underdog were to win it all though... makes me wonder who the biggest underdog to ever win it was? This is that once in every 4 years period where I lament having no televisi...

Evageeks Watching Sport: 2018 World Cup Edition

Right on. Wish I would have made this thread last week, but better late than never I guess.... Talk about a crazy few days in Russia; Ronaldo tying Spain, Iceland drawing Argentina, the world champs going down to Mexico. And I'm surprisingly okay with the USA not taking part. I guess I had quite a w...

This is a bit of what I had to say about the RE 2 Remake back in the good old days of 2015 (simpler, better times. The Cubs still hadn't won a WS in a century and my favorite Mexican restaurant was still open. Sigh). Honestly never thought I'd see the day; people have been saying this since, like, 2...

^Yea, I have similar feelings on the series. I'm looking forward to rewatching it in like a year or so with different expectations for it. I screwed up waiting too long to watch the damn series, man. ----------- Anyway, I've had a really nice time watching anime of late. Seen some really fine series...
