Re: [Music] Songs on repeat
More albums than individual songs, but still... Last week or so, I've repeatedly listened to both Mr. Bungle 's self-titled album and Mate.Feed.Kill.Repeat. by Slipknot . The former is pretty much the culmination of my experience with "weird" music (beginning at Primus, followed by Frank Z...

Re: Currently Playing 5: Absence Makes the Heart Go Yonder!
^ Your comment isn't too far off the mark: Ion Fury was previously Ion Maiden (obvious Iron Maiden reference) when it was in Early Access (until some alleged legal trouble caused the name change) and either title for Powerslave / Exhumed (NTSC/PAL region naming, respectively) are metal references (t...

Re: Currently Playing 5: Absence Makes the Heart Go Yonder!
Been playing a lot of retro and nu-retro shooters the last month or so, I think I'm just experiencing some minor burnout with modern gaming. Here's a quick rundown of which ones, a-z order: - Amid Evil - Doom and Doom II (mostly using the Brutal Doom/Russian Overkill/Too Many Super Shotguns mods) - ...

Re: [Fic] Bardi's Works
I don't have an excuse not to get at least some stuff done, what with all the time freed up lately. Here's the first, The Lost Art of Keeping a Secret : FFN AO3 -music used during the writing of this story: R.E.M. 's "Country Feedback" on a constant loop. It's crazy what you could have had...

Re: Lemon Discussion Thread [try to keep it SFW~ish]
I've got a couple to recommend (both AsuShin, though you'd expect nothing less of me): Must I Spell It Out for You? (The explicit content only really starts a few chapters in) This might be my favorite fic to come out of the Rebuild movies. It's a real slow-burn type of thing, a lot of awkwardness a...

Re: FanFiction Requests/Recommendations/Discussion etc.
I haven't read AsuShin in forever (let alone on FF Net since I'm on AO3 these days) but holy crap this was perfection: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/12323263/1/Cracking-Skulls-and-Stealing-Hearts Oh yeah, that was a good one. Not top-shelf, but still solid all-round. Shame that the author seems to h...

Re: What manga are you reading right now?
Komi Can't Communicate / Miss Komi is Bad at Communication I don't know what rock I've been under to have missed this one. It may very well be the most adorable/wholesome thing I've ever encountered (manga-related, anyway). I only caught mention of it maybe...I dunno, two weeks ago, and I'm hooked....

Re: Dreams of a Distant God
I already left my thoughts over on FFN, but I'll reiterate here: This is excellent work, masterful even, and you should (rightfully) be proud of it. With some of the best AsuShin interactions I've read in a good long time, it's just so much fun to watch them work through the emotional barbed wire th...

Re: [Music] Songs on repeat
Teotihuacan by Noel Gallagher (from The X-Files: Fight the Future soundtrack) I've listened to this song a lot over the last twenty years (when I first heard it over the movie's end credits), and there really is no finer piece to accompany an early-morning/late-night stroll through town (especially...

Re: Lemon Discussion Thread [try to keep it SFW~ish]
So...I opened up AO3 today and found that Rommel had made a new thing . And holy mother of fuck, is it hot . Like, the-kind-I-spent-way-too-many-summers-experiencing-in-the-South kind of HOT. Just...go read it. And yes, I'm still working on Bull in the Heather . Should be up before the end of Septem...

Re: Lemon Discussion Thread [try to keep it SFW~ish]
Hm, guess I just kept picking the timestamps that led to dead ends in my search. Thank you kindly. Sort-of on-topic: I've been lazily working (read: procrastinating) on something Hikari-centric that would go well here (it's the sequel to Shadowplay , definitely related to the last scene). Should be ...

Re: Lemon Discussion Thread [try to keep it SFW~ish]
Okay, I stand corrected on that statement. :sweatdrop: Hmm, the Pancake Scene is missing...maybe my memory is too fuzzy about it... You're not mistaken, I definitely remember that part at the end (it was an epilogue/omake sort of thing). The one you linked says this is the R-rated version, so I gues...

Re: Lemon Discussion Thread [try to keep it SFW~ish]
I think I can answer this one. It's called I Used to Love Her , and it was written by Rakna (yeah, the TOILI... guy) way way way back when. I can't find a working link at the moment (Wayback Machine's not being very helpful), but I'm sure it's still up somewhere . Nothing ever remains completely los...

^ I see what you're saying, silver. I just wish I'd started stronger, y'know? Anyway, as promised, I've got something new up for Valentine's Day (not actually linked to the holiday, unlike Alone With You , but thematically fitting). FFN posting AO3 posting Go have a look if you like. Should have at ...

Re: [Fic] Bardi's Works
Well, actually... Only Kaworu, what Shinji saw at the karaoke bar/later that night in the bedroom and what he saw when leaving Misato's were "real" (though I would say that the head thing with Nagisa was more of a callback to 3.0): the ghost-Asuka that kicked the shit out of hi...

Re: [Fic] Bardi's Works
Thanks silver. As I said before in this thread, don't expect much from the pre-2010 stuff: those first four stories are unimpressive (though Somewhere Out There and I Won't Let You Fall Apart are tied to sequels that are much better).

Finally, after nearly three years on the back-burner, and for my thirtieth release, I thought I'd do something...a little out of the norm for me. Re: Evangelion Pic Thread 10: The Society for the Appreciation Of The Premium Girl (and her friends)
^ Shinji's reaction eerily mimics my own back when I started reading. I stumbled into my first one without knowing what that term meant. Suffice to say, it was a weird moment now that I look back on it. (And yes Shinji, you do want to know what it means. Especially with Asuka right there, too--they ...
