Re: Possibilities and theories for NTE

If the explanation for the Curse of Eva was "it doesn't matter because symbolism," I would be majorly disappointed. Same thing with a lot of the mysteries raised by the Rebuild franchise. I think expecting everything to be explained at this point in the story is you setting your expectati...

Re: Shinji's Actions

I don't agree that 3.0 portrayed Shinji's actions in "the negative way possible." If that was the intent of Anno I still feel it was a bit lacking in execution. Especially now from what we've seen so far of 3.0+1.0 that the destruction was on a larger scale than initially thought. I was h...

Re: Speculation - Blu-ray release window

It's a little of both, honestly. Sure, the Khara representative doesn't understand the rambunctious nature of con goers, but Funimation doesn't seem to be mindful of the end credits light effects and just flat out won't pay for "Fly Me To The Moon" licensing. Well neither did netflix. Als...

Re: Speculation - Blu-ray release window

After the mess that was Funi's 3.33 release, I don't think khara want to work with them anymore. GKIDS getting the rights for the Rebuild films would be a good thing for their international streaming accessibility too considering they're on a good partnership with HBO Max. I've always find it weird...

Re: Speculation - Blu-ray release window

Nobody knows. Currently GKids own the rights to the original series, but that doesn't mean anything. As for the previous films, it would seem that the license with them is expired because the first two films are out of print I think. So yeah, it's currently unknown how it Shin will be distributed y...

Re: Last Movie You Watched

I mostly only remember Todd Phillips for Road Trip and Old School basically. Plus I heard that at one point, he was tight with GG Allin and even got to make a documentary on that weirdo. I wonder if the character Todd played in Old School and Road Trip is somewhat based on antics old GG might've pu...

Re: Video Game Adaptation General!

I'm that guy who actually liked the Sonic the Hedgehog movie, which has sent me into a year-long quest to discover if, truly, my tastes in film were always trash. I appreciate how refreshing it was to see that a studio and a director actually took fan criticism to heart and worked overtime to try a...

Re: Last Movie You Watched

Gave Joker a watch for a class assignment based on it; it was alright. Some sequences dragged on longer than I'd have preferred and the first two thirds of the movie were just kinda... there. The riot sequence towards the end was pretty fun and the only time he actually felt like Joke; without it 5...

Re: Fire Emblem Franchise

Anyone here playing Three Houses? I played the Black Eagles route last year but didn't like the game enough to want to replay it. Not surprising considering everyone says that the Black Eagles/Church route is the worst route in the game. It's not three branching paths it's more two and a half paths...

Takeshi Miikes Blade Of The Immortal As far as live action Manga or anime adaptations go, this is one of the better ones, and it does probably the best thing it can do to adapt a source material several dozen volumes long with lots of characters and storylines, far more than can be shoved into one ...

Re: How Can Shinji Help Wille Without Piloting An Eva?

Imagine this scenario: You are an inexperienced driver who has just taken your license. One day, your girlfriend starts to feel sick and you decide to take her to the hospital. She is in really bad shape, so you irrationally chooses to drive at max speed. However, you suddenly hit someone. People a...

Re: How Can Shinji Help Wille Without Piloting An Eva?

And I do think Shinji's decision was mainly motivated out of selfishness. He literally lays out his motivations during the scene, saying that he doesn't care what happens to the world, and only wants to save Rei. That seems less like a selfless heroic act, more like selfishly considering the person...
