Re: Gainax President Arrested on “Semi-Compulsory Obscenity” Charges, Taking Nude Pictures of Teen Voice Actress
The terms of that loan seem so bizarre. So, if Gainax paid the loan back Khara would've received the rights to those two shows at the cost of just the time value lost of the money in between loan repayment? Why didn't Anno just buy the rights to the shows outright? Was Khara not financially sound en...

Re: Top anime of the 2010s
The problem is I'm sure a company that releases anime doesn't want you saying another company's release is the anime of the decade or even worse ... one you would have to download fansubs for! Off the top of my head I'd put two of the Crayon Shin-Chan films that came out over the last decade into my...

Re: SSSS Gridman - Studio Trigger (2018)
Pretty excited to see this not much to discuss except a few things that are spoilers Will this take place in the "real world?" I think it will be more like the tokusatsu than SSSS. If it comes back will we have a Gridman Sigma style situation where Akane works with the Gridman alliance in ...

Re: Shin Ultraman
Apple CEO Tim Cook posted a tweet showing he met with Shinji Higuchi recently. He specifically mentions SHIN ULTRAMAN. Honestly, Cook’s willingness to mention the film makes me think Apple TV+ might have already worked out a deal with Toho to stream the film (and other Toho project) outside Japan. ...

Yes, teenage me, you really need to watch more "animes". Looking at my old posts drives me up the walls. Why did I write Toradora twice? Let me make an updated list: Space Battleship Yamato 2199 Gunbuster Texhnolyze Rose of Versailles Ashita no Joe Fushigi Yuugi Jin-Roh Beck I didn't stop...

Re: Shin Eva - Official Social Media
It's a little odd because as someone who has watched Shinkalion and even got a toy that show is aimed at VERY young boys. We're talking like sentai age but it did get a pretty popular fujoshi fanbase like Inazuma 11.

I started going back to school to get my MBA. It's really tough but I'm glad I'm doing it! Plus I've always felt like I was making poor use of my time and not bettering myself now but going to work, school and then the gym I think everyone agrees I'm actually being productive!

Do they have subtitles? I've picked up some series that had english subtitles based on american sets like Planetes and some series that didn't have a western release had english subs as well like Macross Frontier.

Wow, I was unaware of the AU Eva series. I'd like an Anima TV series!

Re: What anime are you watching right now? Summer 2016 to now
I had a big paper to work on over the weekend and had Dragon Ball GT on in the background for part of it. Got through the first 15 or 16 episodes and it was pretty fun. There's some obvious problems with it, most of which are in Super as well oddly enough like 'JUST TRANSFORM ALREADY!", but I l...

Re: What anime are you watching right now? Summer 2016 to now
Apparently? I had no idea this anime was based on an 1968 show! I liked this new Bem, but I have no idea how similar it his to the 68 and 2006 anime. I've only seen 68 but I really like it; should be interesting at least to see this reboot. I'll post the similarities after watching it. We just had ...

Re: Netflix Release General Discussion
Netflix is beholden to khara, who have no obligations to anyone but khara. And khara has every right to look out for their own interests, as opposed to those of fans who give an outdated adaptation priority over THE ORIGINAL WORK. I have no tolerance for the ADV dub. It creates confusion about the ...

Awwwww, guess I'll have to read the manga. I've really enjoyed the anime and got a few people at my gym to watch it even. My roommate and me even got a few goods from amiami like a sports bottle and keychains.

I finished How Heavy are the Dumbbells You Lift and it was great! The anime was super funny and super cute from top to bottom. I'm really hoping we get a season 2 since I'd find it hard to believe we've covered all the manga, plus it's still ongoing.

Re: Imaishi and Nakashima are back - Promare
I really enjoyed it but I agree the story was nonsense. This was essentially when you were a kid and would mash all your action figures together to see how the Megazord would fare against Mazinger. The thing is though it's probably some of the best animation I've ever seen in an anime film so it doe...

Re: Shin Ultraman
Nice. Seems to be a few VAs in the top billing? (Maybe I’m wrong?) I wonder what this film will look like if not every aspect is live action actors. Shoji Kawamori directed some action scenes that were made in CG across a few Ultraman shows in the 00's. They haven't done that much in recent years t...

Re: Stuff that you would like to see in Evangelion 3.0+1.0
This would be a bit farfetched but I'd like to see Bonnie Tyler's Total Eclipse of the Heart (https://youtu.be/0IV7GapuKnw), or at the very least a Japanese-language cover of it be used for the climax (perhaps get Nana Mizuki to sing it). Holding out for a Hero by Bonnie Tyler was actually a big nu...

I didn't see Clue until a few weeks ago for the first time and I have to say Tim Curry was so amazing in it! He brings his absolute all in every role. I really enjoyed Gridman so I went back to look at him playing Khan Digifer in Superhuman Samurai syber Squad and he even really sold that role too!
