Soo many different combinations...

Baka Shinji Fuck Off (Dead Kennedys)
Angel Killer (Body Count)
Anarchy in NERV HQ (Sex Pistols)
Kaji is my Fake Lover (Judy Was a Punk Girl)

Re: So does Shinji like Asuka?

Best part about the ending is that it's open-ended on whether or not they make it, making it ripe for theories either fascinating to read, or hilarious in their overanalysis. Because of that open-endness, I've been able to see it with a optimistic light as two teens who've been through hell and back...

Re: Terminator - Genisys (2015)

So, if every Terminator film reboot is "the first one that [Cameron's] movie deserves," what difference does it really make that Cameron is producing one this time? Probably none. Honestly, I think Cameron could give less of a shit considering how he's considered the definitive blockbuste...

Re: Until You Cum to Me -- A Semenal Analysis of the Hospital Scene

The situation is unique in this case when you relate to how just because you feel bad for something you did doesn't excuse you. Shinji is fully aware that he can't go back on what he did and he has to hold that burden...all the way until the him and Asuka are alone on the beach. Shinji admitted that...

...I appreciate you helping out with my stupidity.

Also worth noting that the way Asuka caresses Shinji's cheek is similar to the way Yui did when the two were saying their goodbyes in the penultimate scene.

Re: Last Movie You Watched

Got done watching Captain Fantastic with my mother and older cousin. It could've been edited down shorter, but the script, humor, character relationships, and excellent performance of Mortensen make up for it.

Re: Last Movie You Watched

I saw Moonlight last after a screener came for my Mom. I was expecting it to be good, but not this damn good. I've never seen a movie this intimate with it's viewer in telling it's story.

I'm pretty sure Movieblob is about as far from a good source of reference as humanly possible. This is the guy that has legitimately advocated for a totalitarian state after all. I'm surprised no one has mentioned Asuka gently caressing Shinji's cheek right after trying to strangle her. While his hands are full of conflict and anger, her hands are inviting forgiveness as a sign that she does care.

Great. Now we have anime being further ruined by AN OFFICIAL ANIME SITE.

At this point, it confirms my thoughts that the anime community is destroying itself from the inside (I think we can all agree that seeing MAGA hats on anime girls is a cancer).

Okay. I know this thread is dead, and I'm not supposed to be here. But some HUGE news just dropped like a bomb that I feel I need to share. There may be hope for the franchise. or not. This is James Cameron after all. I don't know about how good it's going to be. Sure, we have the creator of the fr...

Re: Scene from ep 22 of director's cute. Thoughts please.

Asuka's view on Shinji is one of both hope and resentment. Despite her claiming to love Kaji, she's secretly looking at Shinji as a back-up...not just because she wants to be a woman, but she sees Shinji as what she's truly like: a scared, little child not ready to endure the life as an Eva pilot bu...

What else do you expect for people say about a animated bio about a designer of a plane?

(Don't take those words as me criticizing it by the way. I think it's Miyazaki's most underrated film.)

Funimation has finally set a release date for Makoto Shinkai's YOUR NAME in the USA. April 7th. https://www.funimation.com/blog/your-name-opening-in-north-american-theaters-april-7-2017/ Going into that blind and not reading any reviews of it. Nearly a month and a half and I'm barely 100 pages away from finishing Imajica. I know I said I was going to read Ulysses next...but I had a gut feeling that when I heard the themes and concept of the former, I would fall in love with it.

For once, my gut was right.

I'm attempting to get my school to organize a trip to see it. Don't know how much of the supposed weird feel or philosophy will go with the students who want to go, but hey, at least I get to see it all for the first time in an actual theater.

Re: [Film] The Trailers & Upcoming Films Thread

Is there any mention of Wes Anderson's next movie ? I can't tell whetherI should be excited or just intrigued with it. Then again, I do consider Fantastic Mr. Fox to be a great work (Probably because Anderson's style is very animated by nature). Also weird but still hillarious that Yoko Ono herself ...
