Re: Jurassic World

The first Jurassic World was the only one I liked. Fallen Kingdom was too cheesy to take seriously, and while Camp Cretaceous is good, it's not the same as a movie. And if the leaks are any indication, Dominion is going to continue that trend.

Re: Jurassic World

A while back, on Reddit, a guy claimed to have seen Dominion in a pre-release test screening, and gave a synopsis of it. At the time, nobody really believed him, but a lot of what he said has lined up pretty well with what's been revealed since then in the trailers and articles. Here's what he said....

Re: Jurassic World

So, Empire magazine ran an article about the movie, which revealed some interesting tidbits about the plot. I'm going to list them under spoilers. -- We're going to see a "pit fight" at some point between a Baryonyx and an Allosaurus . -- The BioSyn Valley is located in Italy's Dol...

If you think female characters are the worst of Michael Crichton's problems, wait until you read State of Fear.

Re: Share Your EVA Fan Art Here

Happy new years eve everyone! I have never done fanart and I can't draw even if my life depended on it but I doodled some stick-figure renditions on my computer drawing app in celebration of the dynamic trio (please ignore the crap coloring and also the floating heads). https://i.imgur.com/IKxY9sx....

Re: Your entertainment wishlist?

It's funny you say this. I'd like to see a premium channel prestige series adaptation (8-10 episodes) adaptation of Jurassic Park that is true to the book : e.g. it's made clear from the start that the dinosaurs are in no sense "real" and are actually horrifying chimera monsters that look...

Why did Japan adopt a serialized model for animation early on?

So this is something I’m genuinely curious about. When you look at the early history of anime, you notice that it more or less began—early experiments aside—with serialized, long-form TV series like Astro Boy. These were shows with multi-episode story arcs and clifffhangers, and that continues to be...

Re: What's the Worst Movie You've Ever Seen?

I'm not normally in the business of watching movies I consider bad. So while I know of plenty of movies that are truly terrible, I haven't watched most of them. But there is one movie I simply cannot defend. And that movie is the 2017 adaptation of the Dark Tower books by Stephen King. To give this ...

Re: DUNE

Dune is probably the first movie in a very long time that really astonished me, in a visual sense. True, a lot movies these days seem to be trying to outdo each other with how much eye-popping CGI they contain, but Dune is the first one I've seen where it really took my breath away. The scene where...

It brings me great joy to announce that yesterday-- on the one-year anniversary of my Fossil Record Studios art label being launched on RedBubble, no less-- I launched my own website for my artwork! Now, anyone who wants to can have a close-up look at my art, learn more about what inspired them, and...

I kind of miss stop-motion in movies too, even though I was born long past its heyday. If this movie gets a wide theatrical release, maybe it will spark some renewed interest in it.

Re: How do you feel about NTE? + Rank the movies!

Having seen all four movies, here’s my ranking of them, from “least best” (because one can never truly have a bad Evangelion work) to “best”. 1.0 I’m putting this one in the bottom spot because, while it isn’t terrible, it just has the least reason to exist of all the Rebuild movies. It’s a remake, ...
