I don't think Asuka and Kensuke are supposed to be a pair necessarily, but Shinji and Mari in the last scene are pretty clearly portrayed as being in a relationship imo.
But I don't think that scene is really about that.

I don't really take -120min into account when thinking about Rebuild.
It's a fanservice short by someone other than Anno. It was fun for what it is and very pretty but that's about it.

Even better, 4k discs are usually region free. I can play all three Shin Eva discs (bonus features are standard bds, which aren't a guarantee).
