I'm having a hard time believing that the licensing price for Evangelion went up substantially since when ADV paid for it. It does, however. make sense that it wouldn't be licensed here when it's not being printed in Japan either.

I was going to start a thread saying that since ADV no longer exists, someone else could buy the Eva rights for America. I would also ask if this would mean having to redub the series with new VAs. Then I'd suggest Funimation since they did the Rebuild movies. I guess I did just do all of that, ...

It went "berserk" like the Evas do.. but the Evas go berserk because they're partially organic. The Jet Alone is fully mechanical, isn't it?

From a writing standpoint, I think I can see why they may have felt that Touji was a better choice. A few years back, I was attempting to introduce NGE to a former friend of mine. I thought the Rebuild VAs were much better than the ADV ones, but that's just me. I generally prefer dubs, but the acting in the ADV dub is really off, so I switch back and forth for Eva.

It's clear he's one of the only kids who would actually want to do so.

Reading the Evangelion commentary has made me realize that the ADV translations may not be the best. I know there are some fan subs out there that are more faithful than the ADV ones. What do you guys think? Which subs are the best subs?

Apparently the song is in English, even in the Japanese-language version of the movie.

I imagine Instrumentality would be pleasant but ultimately unfulfilling. That's all my imagination can muster.
