Re: FML general thread [7]

I hate it when you prepare for a test and it ends up being completely different from the stuff you're reviewed. At least I did pretty well in my other three classes this semester. I speak from experience: One day your luck will run out and that exam that you can't cram for will come along and bite y...

Re: FML general thread [7]

Time for my traditional "oh shit, my final's tomorrow and I don't feel ready!" post. Really, I need to stop studying for things the night before especially when I slack off for the last month of classes. Trying to teach myself a bunch of things before 2:00 tomorrow is not a stress free str...

Re:

Great Bodhisattva Pass [大菩薩峠] AKA The Sword of Doom (1966) I highly recommend Great Bodhisattva Pass . The direction and cinematography are superb and Tatsuya Nakadai is sublime as the main character. I don’t usually do this kind of thing for movies but this one was worth it. Definitely entering my...

Re: FML general thread [7]

I don't know how I did it, but I woke up this morning and my neck hurts really freaking bad. It hurts to even turn my head and it's hard to concentrate on anything else. Also, today's the last free day I have until I need to start studying for my final on Friday.

Re: What are you watching right now? (tv series + see OP!)

Started watch The Man in the High Castle which is very interesting. I'm a fan for good world building and I love how the show draws you into its world though I am wondering how the Axis Powers managed to win the war (I'm guessing spoilers will explain it) though I have yet to become engrossed with a...

Re: Everything is Rockin'! [RML Thread 4]

Finally done with my classes for this semester. And I only have one final to worry about. Aside from a group project I need to do sometime before the 10th, I have nothing else to worry about which is great because I've been stressed out work all semester.

Re: Third Impact Has Arrived

I think it was about time for a change. The old layout was charming in an ugly sort of way and while the new layout will take some getting used to, it definitely feels more modern although I feel like it could still use some improvements design wise. A lot of that is probably just me getting over th...

With Thanksgiving this week, there won't be any protests. Students are too eager to go home to cause trouble. And after that it's finals, and anyone protesting then either A) doesn't care about grades or B) has a death wish.

Time for me to put my money where my mouth is. The protestors have arrived where I am. I often wonder if (or rather when) they'll show up where I am and how I should react to their presence if they make a nuisance out of themselves. I honestly hope I don't have to deal with it; last...

Response seems to be mixed right now, but once the hype dies down and some new patches come out I feel like I'll have a much better ability to gauge whether or not I want to play the game.

Have to say, I'm not really feeling this banner. I think a long shot of Unit-3 walking through the countryside would have been a better choice. Not to mention the color scheme seems off. I'm looking forward to Zeruel in a week or two though.

Saw Alfred Hitchcock's The 39 Steps yesterday. This is another one of those movies that took me a second watch to really "get" and I enjoyed it much more the second time around. The scenery of the Scottish moors and highlands was really amazing and I was able to follow the plot better ...

Apparently my modem had a firmware problem that appears to have been fixed now. New FML though: another one of my group project teams forgot to attach citations to what we were turning in and so we got docked 3 (maybe more) points out of 40 giving us a rather low grade (75%) Nothing ...

The internet at my apartment was painfully slow yesterday evening. Hopefully it will resolve itself and I won't have to go through the hassle of calling Time Warner to figure out what's wrong.

Backstory: I'm near the end of my graduate degree and after a long string of nothing but A's and B's I find myself in a class I'm struggling with for reasons more psychological than ability-related. In fact nearly all of it is stuff I've done before, but that just compounds the ...

no SVU? Why wallow through this crap when you could watch the only police procedural worth watching? Besides, everyone knows that crime shows are just police state propaganda  SVU is sensationalist garbage. And poorly written sensationalist garbage at that. Not sure where you're going...

Finished New Vegas. Now I'm ready for Fallout 4.

It's funny to note how in-game time has progressed about five months and I've spent about five months playing it. Oh, and Wild Card forever.

Didn't study for a quiz at all and got a 91 on it. This seems to be a running theme with me this semester. Hopefully my midterm tonight will follow the trend (i.e. I've barely studied for it although I intend to use the next five hours to cram as much as I can) and I can go into Nove...

Austin actually had so much flooding on Friday that we made the front page of Reuters. It didn't seem that bad were I lived but then again I live on a hill and only ventured outside around noon when it was mostly over. The rain was coming down diagonally when I first woke up though. Good ol'...

Had a Halloween movie marathon last night. I watched: Night of the Living Dead , The Invisible Man , and The Bride of Frankenstein . I've seen the latter two several times but this was the first time I'd seen Night . It's a very tense movie that manages to avoid or downplay most of the Z...
