Re: Content Submissions, Suggestions and Comments
In the Creation subsection of Rei's article , it's claimed that she "was created sometime between 2004 and 2008, as suggested by her appearance in Episode 21." Setting 2004 as the earliest boundary is perfectly logical, as that's the year when Yui died, giving Gendo the motive to create Re...

Re: Image Request Thread
My copy's much higher resolution: https://cassland.org/images/EG/Groups/AMSkateboard.jpg Seems clear to me. OK, that could believably pass for an eyepatch. You sure it's for Rebuild specifically, though? Maybe the artist just threw in Rebuild!Mari because he likes her; remember that she does appear...

What you're interpreting as an eyepatch's elastic band looks like a barely visible random line to me.

Re: Image Request Thread
That doesn't really look like an eyepatch to me. At best, it's a 50/50 chance between "eyepatch" and "coloring screw-up".

Re: FanFiction Requests/Recommendations/Discussion etc.
And these biomech robots are practically artificial versions of the monsters of the week, one of whom exhibited the power to create a pocket universe and is often used in fanfics as a plot device that enables teleporting a character (typically Shinji, since he's canonically the one who enters said p...

I can confirm that the katakana at the end of the Japanese name does say "Allegorica".

Re: Evangelion ANIMA (general)
You know what I really want right now? An animated adaptation of ANIMA, whether a TV series or OVAs. And I mean a faithful one, i.e. it retains all of the character designs and plot rather than "sanitize" them for "mainstream" viewers.

Re: FanFiction Requests/Recommendations/Discussion etc.
End of Evangelion but its a david lynch script. I have absolutely zero idea what "David Lynch script" means. Please don't assume that everyone here - or even the majority - would always be familiar with whatever people's names you mention. It would be different if they're a really world-f...

Re: FanFiction Requests/Recommendations/Discussion etc.
What if the relationship development occurs in a sequel ? A lot of fanfics make the romance a sub plot whose importance is secondary to the main plot of (typically) saving the world from the Angels/Seele/whatever-the-antagonist-is, and so conclude the story when the threat is finally dealt with; the...

Re: FanFiction Requests/Recommendations/Discussion etc.
I strongly disagree on accusing a storywriter of lazy writing just because they skipped over how the relationship came to be. By that logic, we'd have to ridicule every show, movie and video game that ever existed in which the epilogue involved a time-skip after which we see that some characters hav...

Re: FanFiction Requests/Recommendations/Discussion etc.
You might have ground for your argument if the fics you're talking about are continuations from the TV anime's canon, but AUs in which the two have lived more or less peaceful lives in well-adjusted families (i.e. similar to the worlds of Shinji Ikari Raising Project and Girlfriend of Steel 2 ) are ...

Re: FanFiction Requests/Recommendations/Discussion etc.
There are objectively wrong ways to write a story. One of them is to desecrate all notions of basic grammar and spelling for no good reason. Another that is specific to fanfics is when the fanfic claims to be "totally canon-compliant" but even a grade schooler could tell that the writer's ...

Re: FanFiction Requests/Recommendations/Discussion etc.
... You're basically saying that the very concept of "badly written story" does not exist, which is nonsensical. There are heaps of examples out on the Internet as well as in physical literature of stories that are objectively horrible in terms of quality.

Re: FanFiction Requests/Recommendations/Discussion etc.
You know, there's always the in medias res approach, where the story starts with a "prologue" that actually takes place well into the story. It can act as a hook to capture the readers' attention, if it's executed right.
