Because she exhibits practically no emotion, whichever ones she does exhibit tend to stick with her for a long time. Her beauty comes out through the fact that she can display emotion.

Plus, she's hot.

The fact I'd even consider that slightly plausable is horrifiying. Y'know, there's actually a prototype for a machine that reads dreams. It does require that the subject be in physical contact with it, but even so, I wouldn't be all that surprised if Anno has already formulated a pl...

Evangelion is one man's attempt to cram a stay in a psych ward into a 12-hour foray that juxtaposes fanservice with emotional trauma, makes you laugh at inappropriate times, gives you a high tolerance for violent activity, makes you more tolerant towards those with an Oedipus complex, gives one ...

SEELE built 'em, stuck them into their fish-headed EVAs, and that's really all the explanation we get.

When I was seven years old, there was always a webcomic that I would read on my parent's computer. After a while, they banned me from reading it. I promptly circumvented their ban and continued. They removed the app that allowed me to read it, and I forgot about it out of sheer boredom. Five yea...

Well, I wound up having a dream last year where I punched Asuka so hard in the chest that my hand went through her, mass-production EVA style. I then proceeded to walk around NERV with her still hanging off my arm, making snarky comments at me in Chinese. Still have no idea what that signified.

Re: Parts of Eva You Found Unintentionally Funny

In EoE, when GNR passed through Maya, the way Maya freaked out. Although I might do something similar if that happened to me... Maya's just freaking out because she's coming to terms with her own sexuality. Then again, of course, it's because Rei is 'fingering' her. When I final...

Things have happened to all of Anno's wives. It's what made End of Evangelion so good.

Well, it takes a hell of a lot of thought to understand Eva. Some people just don't feel like pouring a ton of time into it. Then again, Evangelion isn't exactly what I would call a "lucid" anime. Some people hate it for that, while others are just more motivated to understand it. ...

Monk Ed#582568 wrote:Shinji and Rei too? Was it just the four of them, or all of humanity presumably in there?

Presumably all of humanity. Evangelion Unit-01 was transformed into an ark, capable of holding all the souls of the human race in conjunction with Lilith.

I think this is also the reason why many American fans of anime tend to brush off NGE. They just sit there waiting for Shinji to "man up" for the whole show, thinking it would solve all of his problems in the series. Granted, Spike Spencer doesn't exactly make it easy to like Shinji. ...

I didn't have any problems with the imagery personally, but after my first watching of End of Evangelion I took to re-watching it with a bible in my hands. There's so much allusion to religious stuff in that movie that you practically need to be religious to understand it. I didn't have ...

In one of the trailers her left Iris glows green, and it's not the entire eyepatch, the Iris beneath glows Blue. To add evidence to this, I went back and freeze-framed each portion of the scene where Baradiel takes over. The blue emanates out from her left (Our right, by perspective) ey...

By this point, Kyoko's soul had already been absorbed into the Evangelion unit. What was left of her was a pathetic, sorely damaged mind inside of a healthy body. Hence the delightful scene where she hangs herself.

The angel 'evolution' definitely isn't Darwinian, so that could be a substantial piece of evidence to lend to your theory. Of course, since we have no idea where the angels are coming from, we don't know if they observe their comrades or if they just pop into existence with the memor...

Don't sue me, I'm only new here.

So, as you can tell, I'm new here. For some reason, I've put this off for two years, an action which I sorely regret. Anyway, I'm here now to unleash myself upon Anno's masterpiece.

I'd sell my soul to Satan for an advance copy of 3.0.
