Re: Nerv Nevada, S2 Engine Installation, Unit-04 Sabotaged?

It's really hard to pinpoint the extent of Seele's awareness/anticipation/knowledge of the Angels. Gendo lies to them about Iruel (another Angel that was all too conveniently packaged and sent to Nerv) but Seele is rather incredulous about Gendo's lie, as if they know more about the situation than t...

Re: The fate of Unit-04

For one, I see a lot of people refer to the event as being explicit sabotage by SEELE, but I don't recall where exactly the show specified that to be the case. From what I recall the show kept it ambiguous why the experiment failed. Did I miss something? And if I did, why would SEELE want to sabota...

So we now have FLCL: Classic, Progressive, and Alternative. Season 4 should be called Industrial.

@Princess Asuka: this thread isn't a dumping ground for grievances concerning other sites. I understand your frustration, but that sort of drama should stay away from here; what happens elsewhere should stay elsewhere. Note that the thread OP is about general Internet toxicity and culture, not the w...

Re: Grave markers at the end of EoE?

RE: who came back/woke up first? We see Shinji return when he emerges from the Sea of LCL prior to the title card transition into the final scene. He watches as Lilith's body crumbles. https://i.imgur.com/ffKmLFG.jpg As for the grave markers, I'm sort of like Tines. At first I thought they were just...

Is that 27% of the acheivements? Did you only do the story? The hunts make up quite a bit of the sidequests, and then there's collecting all the espers.

Re: Star Wars Episode II - A New Thread

Hey everybody. After some reorganization, and due to the abundance of SW content cluttering the place, I've created a sister server to the EGF discord focusing entirely on Star Wars. Similar layout as the EGF server. I would love to interact with more Star Wars fans, and discuss the various films an...

Re: 3.33 Tonal Shift

Despite the apocalyptic setting, I find 3.0 much less bleak than the final leg of NGE and EoE. Shinji's in a bad place, but Rei survived, although currently out to lunch in Unit 01, the other characters are standing and fighting instead of being broken wrecks, and Seele and Nerv don't seem as unbea...

I love this guy. I've followed him for quite a bit on Instagram and try to leave comments when he touches on something that peaks my interest. He has insight on cinematography that has helped myself review the series with fresh eyes. I wish he would show up here.

Re: Rebuild outside of Evageeks: Many reactions

Reichu is just saying that opinions change over time, naturally. Initial reactions to a film are not always going to be the same when you revisit it. Some films require multiple viewings in order to gain a full appreciation for. It can be seen in films that employ effective twists that change the pr...

The 98 film will always have a place in my heart because I like shitty films that came out when I was a kid. Batman Forever is another example.

Re: Introduction, Toxicity of AsuShin and other things

Eva is not nihilistic. It is a work dealing heavily with existentialism, but never does it come to the conclusion that everything is meaningless; quite the opposite, it encourages us to persist and create our own purpose. The struggle with existence is meaningful in of itself.

Jesus, that movie came out in the 90s? I feel old. The new series won't be able to match Gary Oldman as entertainment, but is welcome nonetheless.
