Re: SSSS Gridman - Studio Trigger (2018)
The CGI works better if you think of it as portraying men in rubber suits, rather than directly representing a mechanical hero fighting kaiju . Also, I just hated the short blonde girl that kept on kicking the poor dude. It took me a while to figure out who you meant, as Borr was obviously a ginger....

everything to do with how NERV mucked up Ritsuko's life for little reason, and same with Misato. Exactly so. They are both what might vulgarly be called "Christmas cakes" -- spinsters approaching the status of old maids -- who have given the best years of their lives to Project-E and its ...

Re: SSSS Gridman - Studio Trigger (2018)
Yes -- a solid show, where they did manage to stick the landing, staying within the previously established Gridman context (no sudden aliens reveal/into space finale this time), and resolving the central conflict they'd set up. Plus, having stumbled upon the live-action series on the way to the fina...

Re: What anime are you watching right now? Summer 2016 to now
Has no-one else been watching anything? Odd that nearly three weeks have elapsed without a post. Doing some re-watching -- at about half-way through, but knowing where it's headed Real Drive isn't holding up so well; RahXephon at the 2/3 mark is faring better, partly because it's that much longer ag...

You did switch off the nanny filters on your searches for the given string, I trust.
It's on danbooru, if that helps refine your search.

Searching the web for images relating to "Gyaku-funsha Musume (Retro-Rocket Girl)" -- the name of the doujin -- should point you in the right direction.

Re: Gundam (In All Its Incarnations) Mk. II
I've tried watching Gundam Unicorn and Blood Ironed Orphans and stopped due to utter boredom, then I tried Turn A and Reconquista and stopped due to utter confusion. This is an object lesson in how not to watch Gundam. You start with 0079 and work onwards -- Unicorn assumes you know what went on in...

It's around 15 years since they decided to retrofit 3DPDCG to the TV series OP. That's a long time for that sort of technology.

I would have to see it in motion before giving an unqualified thumbs-up -- whether it manages to avoid the odd flashes of being suddenly doll-like in speaking or when there are shadows moving over the face.

Re: What anime are you watching right now? Summer 2016 to now
Pulling titles from the backlog where they had been languishing for a year-plus I probably haven't watched quite enough recent titles to get all the references in Animegataris , but it may be silly enough fun to give a second chance. It will depend on the ratio of whimsical out-of-folklore elements ...

Concurrency is the belief that the EoE and TV endings both happen at the same time. Some proponents of this interpretation have made re-edits to interleave the two.
