Re: Star Wars Episode II - A New Thread

So I point out & provide evidence that the most likely bogus article from an Islamophobic tabloid saying Kathleen Kennedy is fired is because of a self-feeding cycle of misogyny, hatred of women and a strong need to keep non-white faces out of popular narratives and your immediate response movie...

Re: Star Wars Episode II - A New Thread

The Daily Express is a UK based tabloid newspaper who leans very far right. They often write articles bemoaning the dangers of racial equality, sexual equality, often blame immigrants for all national problems & routinely have to apologize for misreporting or presenting facts in a way to support...

Re: Imaishi and Nakashima are back - Promare

This is the Trigger show I expect good things from. Now that Trigger is an established studio Imaishi & team should be able to play around and really blow things up animation wise ( they found creative ways to get around budgetary issues in Kill La Kill , the first Trigger show ). Should be simi...

Re: Debate the quality of Rebuild here. [2]

Sure, one could argue people have been debating these movies since they were originally announced in August or September 2006 ( can't remember which ) but at least starting today - June 27 - back in 2009 we got the first concrete hints/news of what occurs in the 2nd movie & what the movie is abo...

Re: Last Movie You Watched

Possible. Advances in technology surely have made the stop-motion animation process move at a much faster rate which would involve paying animators for fewer days. I imagine 3D printing also would help keep down costs since they could replicate things they needed for the film instead of making each ...

Re: Debate the quality of Rebuild here. [2]

Didn't want to start a new thread.

Just wanted to throw it out that as of today - June 27, 2018 - we E-Geeks in one way or another have been debating the quality of Evangelion 2.0: You Can (Not) Advance for exactly nine years.

Re: Last Movie You Watched

Shrug. No idea to the Isle of Dogs question. Independent movies, even animated ones about dogs, don't really travel far internationally. $62 million sounds about right to me. Boxofficemojo is the premiere source for this kind of info so I have to trust what they have is correct. They probably haven'...

July 29th is what I'll throw out.

July 29, 2016 - Shin Godzilla released in Japan.
July 29, 2017 - Evangelion Official Website mainpage updates for the first time in 5(?) years.
July 29, 2018 - ?

Re: Last Movie You Watched

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is a bad movie - director J.A. Bayona does what he can with the script he's got and does force out a couple solid set pieces - that exists for one reason & one reason only.... To set up the third movie that is being directed by Colin Trevorrow (Release Date: June ...

Re: SSSS Gridman - Studio Trigger (2018)

Not sold on the cutesy character designs contrasted against the darker superhero elements..... but I have zero prior knowledge of the series or character so I may give this a shot. I can't comment on Darling in the Franxx cause I dumped that show once I saw how the mechs were piloted and I knew the ...

Re: Shin Eva - Official Social Media

Sounds to me like they're moving into another stage of the production process. Maybe they're starting to hire inbetweeners. Either way, it's a good sign the movie is moving steadily along in production. Most animation work is freelance. You hire people for the one job and only when you need them. If...

Re: [Film] James Cameron's Avatar

I stan for James Cameron and his AVATAR universe. I also think he's really going to blow some minds with these sequels. Really I think the only thing that will be different this time around is none of the AVATAR sequels are going to have the theatrical longevity of TITANIC ( fifteen weeks as the #1 ...

Re: Star Wars Episode II - A New Thread

Star Wars is never going to be "niche". The very nature of the brand name STAR WARS defeats the concept. If they ever make a movie for under $10 million that doesn't open in 10,000 theaters across the globe at once maybe you can toss that word around with the largest movie franchise of all...

Re: Star Wars Episode II - A New Thread

Solo has dropping almost (or over) 70% in attendance in its second weekend. Wows! This is especially astonishing since all other studios steered clear of releasing any big projects this weekend having assumed Star Wars 10 was going to be a financial juggernaut. This movie most likely won’t even hit ...

Re: FLCL: Seasons 2 and 3

Pretty bummed that Toonami is going to hold off on release of the Japanese language versions of FLCL2+3 until November. I figured this would happen when the news started saying the sequel seasons would premiere in Japanese cinemas as movie events in September. If Toonami streamed/aired the shows in ...

Repeat: Solo: A Star Wars Story opened in EVERY major movie-going market except Japan this weekend. The movie opened in China this past weekend. It made $10 million on the opening weekend. About 1/3 of what Rogue One : A Star Wars & The Last Jedi did on their opening weekend and 1/5TH of what Th...

Re: Shin Eva - Official Social Media

Everyone’s process is a little different. Can’t say for sure but from what I’ve gleamed from other tidbits of information other members have dropped on here throughout the years it seems Anno is pretty open to introducing new element/filling in the gaps in his films during production than say a Haya...

Re: Star Wars Episode II - A New Thread

Key reason why they reveal THAT character is behind all the evil at the end of the film is because most likely he’s going to be the main heavy for the Obi-Wan: A Star Wars Story Disney is not-so-secretly working on at the moment. That’s probably going to be the first post Episode IX Star Wars movie ...
