Re: a possible inspiration for the design of Leliel

In The Evangelion Style, Yasutaka Yoshimura attributes the design to the mod fashion trend of the 1960s in his article about 60's motifs in Evangelion.

Something to consider:

Re: Merry Christmas EvaGeeks!

Merry Christmas, nerds.

I had Christmas with the family today, in particular, I received The Essential Evangelion Chronicle: Side B and Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water
(proto-Evangelion) on blu-ray. I also decided to treat myself to Shin Godzilla on blu-ray.

Re: Last Movie You Watched

We got Netflix to watch Stranger Things season 2, which means I've been inundated with stuff. I've watched quite a few movies, some not worth mentioning, but there were a few good ones in there. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 - Didn't quite live up to the hype I got from the trailers, but it was sti...

Re: Blade Runner franchise

Narratively I did love how the film intentionally set you up to believe Ryan Gosling was "the chosen one" only to pull a third act reveal that he isn't. I'm personally exhausted by the superhero/superhuman "you're the chosen one" narratives going on right now. Easily...

Re: Blade Runner franchise

Went and saw Blade Runner 2049 the other night with my wife and Drinian. Plot: C+ / B- Honestly, I didn't think it was all that interesting, original, etc. I feel like I've seen the same story multiple times before. I also think some elements of the plot were underdeveloped and hard to follow. There...

Re: Studio Khara Sues Gainax for 100 Million Yen in Royalties

I know that Gainax is a shadow of its former self, but I don't really see anything alarming here. Was Gainax West at all important? They still have a regional studio in Fukushima, that's saying something, right?

We watched the original Blade Runner the other night in preparation.

Yup. I think our original plan was to launch the site along side of Evangelion 1.0, but there were some delays. There was actually talk of delaying it again, but I insisted that we commit to a launch date and get it done, and out the door.

Re: TRANSCRIPTION HELP WANTED: Misato's Fan Service Center

Hey everyone, I've been doing a bit of work archiving old articles from internet archive, and print magazines that are long defunct. As part of that, I would also like to get the remainder of the old Eva letters column archived, so if anyone would care to assist, I would appreciate the help. For my ...
