Re: [Game] Ayanami Raising Project - Comparison of Versions

How about the endings? I heard (maybe it was from you, I can't remember) that certain endings got removed from the DS version. Do you know which endings are specific to each version? Ah, I've probably mentioned that somewhere on my blog before, but I'll go through them quickly now. First off: The o...

Re: Mazinger Z & Evangelion

Sadamoto said in the interview that End of Eva's apocalyptic ending was directly inspired by that of devilman. also the collage you posted doesn't seem to have any Mazinger.... That's because I didn't make it. However, the apocalyptic ending is nothing like Devilman. It has influences, yes, but ove...

Re: Mazinger Z & Evangelion

The cited interview quote seems to suggest otherwise. But I've read both and can tell by myself that it is not the case. Mazinger Z pioneered the mecha genre and had a bigger influence on Evangelion than Devilman regardless of what is said in that interview. However, if that interview was translate...

Re: Mazinger Z & Evangelion

I definitely saw a lot more similarities between Devilman and Evangelion than between Mazinger Z and Evangelion. Wrong. It has more connections with Mazinger Z than Devilman. Read both manga, and you'll understand. There's only a handful of connections to Devilman and most of them are centred aroun...

Re: Preacher

Do not like all the changes they're making. Especially to the characters and plot. I knew they would fuck it up but not this bad. It's not even Preacher. Why couldn't HBO make it instead of awful AMC? http://tw.greywool.com/i/9eVQ9.jpg http://tw.greywool.com/i/D7toM.jpg

Not that I have any problem with it, but does she do that often?

Re: Mazinger Z & Evangelion

I'll take a guess that nobody here has read the original manga? Somebody, please prove me wrong. I seem to remember the Boss character's robot was put together with a lot of junkyard spare parts and the main control interface was a steering wheel. I wonder if it was part of the inspiration for Megas...

Re: Mazinger Z & Evangelion

It's been a while since I've read it, but there were a few things I pointed out when I posted about it on my blog. I'm sure there are more things but my memory is a bit hazy. In any case, if you do read it, you'll easily notice how it has influenced Evangelion. Even more so knowing how it is the gra...

Mazinger Z & Evangelion

Has anyone else here read Nagai's original Mazinger Z? It is one of the major inspirations for Evangelion. If you have, what do you think of the many connections and similarities?

Re: War anime recommendation

Anime and manga don't exactly convey the themes and intensity of war very well, but I would recommend Saikano. It's not exactly war orientated but it handles the war present in the show and its effects extremely well. One of my favourite anime of all time. Also, prepare to cry.

Ha ha ha. You know what I mean. Those type of movies are more or less overall aimed at women. And you know they are. That's the majority of people who go to see those movies.

Re: Sexualisation of men in films

I'm all for equal opportunity fanservice, but in recent years even I've been made more than a little uncomfortable by things like Magic Mike and Twilight. I don't understand how you're uncomfortable with it. It's not like those movies are aimed at men, you know? They're films for women. In that reg...
