Re: FanFiction Requests/Recommendations/Discussion etc.

It was just a joke, but what do you think it would be like? Rei: I love you Homer Simpson Homer Simpson: I love you as much as i like my doughnuts Ro-Man: Rei, how could do this to me! Rei: Ro-Man, it's not what it looks like! Ro-Man: You left me for this yellow skinned hu-man! Homer Simpson: Corre...

They did that. It was called Super Robot Wars.

True. It's like trying to learn English by watching nothing but SpongeBob.

Tom Hanks can play anyone. He's the only actor to portray both Mr. Rogers and Walt Disney. If anyone could do a good job as Superman, it's him.

Re: What manga are you reading right now?

I don't know how much this counts, since it's a very episodic manga that doesn't really have an ongoing storyline, but I've been binging on Franken Fran lately. It pretty much presses all my buttons: biology, weird monster designs, medical anomalies, and dark comedy. The idea is that Fran (basically...

Re: Superhero/Comic Based Films & Tv - Vol.2

I didn't intend for it to come off that way, but I think Ray started it with his dislike of the MCU for scuttling other superhero movie series.

Re: Superhero/Comic Based Films & Tv - Vol.2

That's what I said. They've loaded the dice, they've given themselves an unfair advantage. If it were all fair, other studios would be doing the same thing as them with the same amount of success.

Re: Superhero/Comic Based Films & Tv - Vol.2

Marvel is taking a somewhat riskier approach. They have to roll the hard six and either recast important roles as the actors quit/age out but keep the continuity the same, soap opera style, or see if they can age out those characters and shift the focus to others in their stable. If they're smart t...

Re: Evangelion Pic Thread 10: The Society for the Appreciation Of The Premium Girl (and her friends)

I'd like to think a scene like this actually happened offscreen in the rebuilds. Misato goes into her new quarters, and there's Mari sitting on her couch, dressed in her clothes drinking her beer. Misato: "What are you doing in my quarters? How the hell did you get past security? Wait. . . tho...

Potentially. They have a "better to go down fighting than admit defeat" mentality, I'll give them that.

Re: Superhero/Comic Based Films & Tv - Vol.2

As for Marvel Winning this round there won't be any future rounds for either side to win because big theatrical releases are going the way of the dinosaurs and silent movies. DC and one chance and they're never going to get it again. I wouldn't go that far. What I do see happening is studios becomi...

Re: Superhero/Comic Based Films & Tv - Vol.2

I doubt DC will ever be relevant ever again. I doubt it'll be that simple. As I mentioned before, the next couple of DC movies at least don't have the budget problems that Justice League did, so that makes them more likely to be successful or at least profitable. There's also still the Arrowverse, ...

Re: Superhero/Comic Based Films & Tv - Vol.2

It's not just DC that has this problem. Having watched many, though not all, of the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, they tend to veer towards being either very serious (though never quite to the extent of DC) or very comical. This is especially evident in recent years; their earlier movies, like t...

Re: What anime are you watching right now? Summer 2016 to now

Yes, it really is atrocious. Junji Ito is one of the few exceptional Manga creators. He is a true master in what he does. Everyone should check out one of his short Manga , and Uzumaki should be required reading. So you can imagine, how much it hurts to see such an atrocious adaption . His work des...

Re: Superhero/Comic Based Films & Tv - Vol.2

That might be true, but there are other factors in play here, such as the cost of those movies. To put things in a little perspective, Justice League cost $300 million (and even more once you add marketing costs), so it was pretty much doomed to not break even from the very start. It was one of the ...

Re: What manga are you reading right now?

I just started reading The Promised Neverland , and you know what it reminds me of, right from the first chapter? Freaking Sausage Party . That's right, the Seth Rogen movie. Seriously-- the protagonists live in a utopian society governed by a belief that they will one day be "chosen" to l...
