Re: Evangelion Pic Thread 10: The Society for the Appreciation Of The Premium Girl (and her friends)

So I was looking at EVA X Pokemon pictures and found these: http://i0.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/original/000/908/568/39c.jpg The inevitable conclusion: http://i0.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/original/000/564/414/0cd.jpg Speaking of which, the hiatus on my Evangelion/Pokemon fanfic is now over! Check i...

That was kind of my point. The Toho kaiju aren't the only ones, so even if the characters do mention "monster movies", they aren't necessarily breaking the fourth wall.

Re: Last Movie You Watched

So, I watched the Dark Tower movie. From the way people talk about it, you'd think it was some sort of cinematic atrocity, along the lines of Plan 9 from Outer Space or The Emoji Movie. But I've watched it (keep in mind, I'm a major Dark Tower nut) and. . . it's not that bad at all. True, it isn't f...

Re: Neon Genesis Evangelemon

Yes, I know this fic has been on a long hiatus. Yes, I know that it updates slower than molasses in January. But you know what? Just bear with me. It's all going to be worth it in the end. Shopping in Pallet Town 3 was not something Asuka normally looked especially forward to, but on this particular...

Face it: they don't give a crap about reviews. All they want is money. The fact that Wonder Woman was well-liked was just a bonus as far as they're concerned.

Re: Controversial Anime Opinions

Here's something else that may or may not truly qualify as "controversial". I was never really able to get into the Yu-Gi-Oh anime, abridged or otherwise. The issue I had with it is actually an interesting one. See, I did like looking at the pictures and flavor text on the cards, simply be...

Re: Evangelion Pic Thread 10: The Society for the Appreciation Of The Premium Girl (and her friends)

What are aninmals? If you have been around for a bit, you may have heard of them before. But what exactly ARE aninals? It's simple: aninmals are little people just like you or me. Over twenty different types of animnals have been discovered so far. Here is the most common ones that you can find: Sta...

Re: Controversial Anime Opinions

I know I already mentioned that I hate Haruhi Suzumiya , but there's actually another popular high school-based anime that I find I really can't stand. And that would be Lucky Star . To be blunt, Lucky Star is what you get when a TV show is designed by committee, and based on cliches and stereotypes...

Only it's not up in the air at all. We have abundant fossil evidence that Velociraptor and its close relatives did, in fact, have feathers. Want proof?

Nope, that's not up in the air at all. We know Velociraptor (or Deinonychus, to you hipsters) did have feathers, because a fossil was found with quill knobs.

Re: Controversial Anime Opinions

I hate to say it, but I think our beloved Evangelion started this one. You all know the story: Anno wanted to show anime fans what a bunch of sickos they were by imagining how disturbing their "ideal waifu" would be as an actual person, which is how he created Rei. But all those anime fans...

Re: Last Movie You Watched

Went and saw Baby Driver this week. Please go and see it, if you can. It's the best live-action film I've seen since Fury Road . Film-making wise, it is one of the most ambitious films I have ever seen, and easily blows every other 'big-brand franchise/superhero/Star Wars' movie out of the water. E...

Re: What anime are you watching right now? Summer 2016 to now

Final episode of NTHT. We start off where we left off in the last one, with Zari-Bars taken over by Hellywood. Hamdo orders Lala-ru to use her water powers to refuel the flying fortress, but of course she refuses. Meanwhile, that soldier kid from earlier talks to one of his friends about how he was ...

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is the title of the whole series.

Re: Controversial Anime Opinions

I'm probably going to get some flak for this, but I never liked The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya very much. For me, it's the definition of a show that doesn't age well. Not only is the main character kind of a jerk, but pretty much everything in it is a reference to slice-of-life anime cliches that...
