Re: No shirt, no shoes, no lewdness, no (fan)service

AWISE! :resurrect: This Mildly erotic visual made potheads in the anime Community Furious. https://giant.gfycat.com/EveryOblongIndianrhinoceros.gif This also went viral: she appears to be using one of the cheap $5 acrylic bongs you buy at crackhead gas stations. Not sure why she'd be rocking a bong ...

Re: Superhero Films & TV

Yes, because Marvel's movies are entertainig, so deviating from the source is justified. DCs movies aren't good, so the deviations aren't justified. I'd say that's just your opinion but I already used the Lebowski meme. I found Man of Steel entertaining. And I still don't get the hate for BVs. I'm ...

Re: Superhero Films & TV

I was trying to say is that nobody complains when the Marvel movies significantly deviate from the source. But DC's lambasted for many of the same issues.

Re: Whitewashing And Diversity In Hollywood?

So roles suited to people of color should be reserved for similarly ethnic actors, but you think it's "pretty cool" to assign minority actors to roles of established white characters? Depends on the context. Each case is different, and there are always exceptions to every rule . . . thoug...

Re: Superhero Films & TV

If he can't even edit his movies effectively and his characters are this divorced from the ones we're used to The editing is not on Snyder, that one's on WB Executives not wanting the movie to be over two and a half hours long because they were worried about not having enough showtimes. I'll conced...

Re: Superhero Films & TV

^ Logan was serious and dark but it didn't try to comment on the freaking Patriot Act or use Wolverine as an allegory for the Bush Administration. The Dark Knight . . . the message behind it is kind of messed up. It glorifies a man who invades people's privacy and hacks into their social media so he...

Re: Superhero Films & TV

With the crappy things that are going on in today's world people want pure escapism and don't want their Heroes to outright criticize the status quo or deal with issues in the real world. The world Dark Knight came out in was a angsty post 9/11 World looking for the catharsis the Dark Knight provide...

Re: Superhero Films & TV

That might be because Chris Nolan has the chops to pull it off, and did it with a solid script in hand. Snyder doesn't have either quality working for him. (this is why your and movieartman's entire argument re: MoS/BvS fails disastrously, btw; fans embraced the fuck out of Nolan's Batman even thou...

Re: Superhero Films & TV

So WB is gonna push the "This is the FUN movie!" angle as hard as they can hoping their movie can work as massive counter programming to Thor: Ragnarok & Pixar's Coco over Thanksgiving.  And that ultimately is going to be the nail in their coffin. If you abandon your prior Creative Vi...

Re: Last Movie You Watched

The Virgin Spring: This was one of the hardest movies I've ever watched. The rape scene with the Virgin was just so shocking and so straightforward and staged so matter-of-factly that it just made me cringe up as I watch this which I guess was the intent. It seems all of bergman's movies are attempt...

Re: Superhero Films & TV

A lot of these screenshots look really artificial and staged even by the standards of Zack Snyder movies. That's what happens when you alter something in post to make it more bright and colorful in stark contrast to the original Vision they had when they started. Look let's be realistic Justice Leag...

Taking the bus sucks. But man its never a dull moment. The people you see on the bus will stick with you long after they're gone. I was late for something important today, but not because I overslept. Because someone on the bus had to be a prick. An old lady, a miserable old hag. She had a plastic b...
