Re: What anime are you watching right now? Summer 2016 to now
I caught "The Boy and the Heron" in IMAX and quite liked it. Felt very immersive and honestly as more people watch this I'll be curious to see what people make of this thematically. I caught this in regular theaters, but I didn't really vibe with the movie. I quite liked the music, and it...

What anime are you watching right now? Summer 2016 to now
It felt strange to watch however, like it was all over-animated , too good for the silly story it was telling. Agreed, chaz. When I was watching the first episode I was quite perplexed with what was up with the artstyle, and I never really got down with it. I wasn't really crazy about the character...

Re: Shin Ultraman
Yea, Shin Ultraman was incredible, really blew me away from the beginning. I don't really have any experience with the character but loved it nonetheless, and def got some Eva vibes from the fight scenes.

Re: Gundam (In All Its Incarnations) Mk. II
The Witch From Mercury eps 0 and 1 were pretty cool. Seems to be a little more playful then your typical Gundam show but I guess we'll have to see where it's going with it. The beginning of Episode 0 had a cool homage to the beginning of Q and the end of Epsiode 1 def gave me Utena vibes, so it was...

Re: What anime are you watching right now? Summer 2016 to now
I haven't read the manga at all and maybe the story stays relatively goofy forever and this is reading a bit much into it, but it makes me wonder. I haven't read the manga either but I think I could see it getting a bit serious. There were a few moments here and there that made me a bit nervous whi...

Re: What anime are you watching right now? Summer 2016 to now
Spring season was pretty good, both in the anime world and the real world(I went to Anime Central last month). Really enjoyed the six shows I watched, I'm sad to see em go. My favorite of the season was Birdie Wing . We've seen girls playing (scorching) ping pong, girls driving tanks, girls climbing...

That Mona was a weird one. What was she even supposed to be? The funny one? If memory serves, I believe she was the office booze hound. Or was she just drinking water out of that vodka bottle, I don't remember the joke, hehe. Anyways, shame it wasnt too much your thing, but I guess thats how it goe...

The Washington Commanders - um ok? It is pretty whack, but I'm just glad they didn't keep that Washington Football Team nonsense. I think their owner is kind of a strange guy so I'm not surprised they picked a name no one likes. Their uniforms are okay though, as far as Nike designs go. I've ...

Now to find out where the hell I'm gonna put this thing. I feel your pain :) Mine is currently on top of my bookcase but I need to find a better place for it... Anyways, I couldn't me any happier with it, I love this thing. Thinking about getting some frames for the artwork. Looking forward to neve...

Mieruko Chan – It was a great show, chaz. I like how this post looks like you are trying to offer me reassurance  Heh heh, I suppose I did. Everythings gonna be okay! I'll have to check out your pick for AOTY, you mentioning Ascendance of a Bookworm last year got me to watch it and I loved it....

Mieruko Chan – Will be the show I’ll miss the most from this season. It’s a difficult recommendation, every episode boils down to: grotesque spirit appears before a terrified girl, see how long she can ignore it without suffering a nervous breakdown. It was a great show, chaz. And a lot of it was l...

Re: Any NFL/Fantasy fans out there?
it's anyone's Superbowl to win this year for sure...just get in. Not any really dominant teams except maybe Green Bay??? Chiefs seem to be hot at the right time maybe as well as the Bengals...Dallas has a punchers chance....the Bucs have looked pretty poor lately. Things are def wide open in the NF...

Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword - I usually love anything LoZ related, but this game is hard to get into. Granted it’s still early on but even just watching the way Link runs throws me off on this game. I’ll stick with it and probably end up enjoying it. Star fox 64 via Nintendo online - Been replayi...

This one almost slipped under my radar, so thanks for the heads-up, Joy. :handshake: The first couple weeks it was on I forgot I was watching it too, hehe. It's too chill to leave a lasting impression I guess, which makes sense since I basically have no memory of the first couple seasons save that ...

I just finished watching Gunbuster ; hot fucking damn. Throughout the first five episodes, my sentiment was more along the lines of "Why do people say this is so good again? This is all way too fast and nothing has the weight it needs". And then the final episode dropped. Yeah, 8/10 show,...

Re: Gundam (In All Its Incarnations) Mk. II
Victory is more boring than anything else. Like there's a lot of stuff that sounds crazy on paper like the Bikini Death Squad or whatever but its mostly just kind of a tedious slog of a series. Yea, in my opinion Victory isn't any darker than any other Gundam series... it's probably tamer than most...

Re: Gundam (In All Its Incarnations) Mk. II
On a whim I picked up Unicorn , so far I am not exactly impressed by it. I like Unicorn a lot, but I don't really recommend watching it without watching MSG , Zeta and CCA first. I think a pretty good way to watch the UC stuff is to watch it in the order of when it was released. Even though I think...
