Re: Gundam (In All Its Incarnations) Mk. II

0080 War in the Pocket works alone, I think (it was my introduction to the universe); though even in that knowing a little background might help.

Re: [NEWS] Neon Genesis Evangelion coming to Netflix Spring 2019

Perhaps they're not "replacing" anyone, but rather they're just "choosing the best from all the possibilities now available". As I said earlier, it would be sad if the industry didn't have new people who could match or surpass what was done by the pioneers twenty years ago. I wou...

Trying to get hired (which is what this looks like to me) is almost certainly a way of guaranteeing that it doesn't happen.

A wonderful film - and the only anime I've ever seen in a theatre, as it happens. I recommend the manga, also.

my parents keep enabling my sister by letting her talk on the phone with and facebook messenger and even hang out with this creep. -_- She's 23 Are you seriously arguing that a 23-year-old should be subject to parental control? Re: New version of Concurrency Project

It's not a difference in policy; it's just that as there are few active mods, and the forum is quiet at present so they aren't very active either, well, sometimes they miss things. Also, it's a tricky judgement in some ways, given that this forum is specifically dedicated to discussing a show the ma...

Re: New version of Concurrency Project

Because it's a link to copyright material, which is against the rules here. If you make a torrent, you could give a hint as to what Google search would find it (that happens in the older thread I linked above).

Re: New version of Concurrency Project

The idea is to edit together episodes 25, 25', 26 and 26' (i.e. the TV ending, eps 25 & 26 and the End of Evangelion film, eps 25' & 26', which cover the same time period), combining them into a single coherent sequence and removing duplication to end up with a film typically well over two h...

Re: [NEWS] Neon Genesis Evangelion coming to Netflix Spring 2019

So the only way to see the original Director's Cut of episode 23 in its entirety is on the Pre-Renewal release? Exactly so, which is why I have that DVD ("Resurrection") alongside the other things. I guess they decided quickly that the added images interfered with the Reiquarium too much,...

Re: [NEWS] Neon Genesis Evangelion coming to Netflix Spring 2019

The Bluray box has the "Renewal"-type OA episodes, and the Archive DVD box has the real original episodes (hence their not being released in higher resolution). So all the main different versions are included somewhere (with the notable exception of the Reiquarium images from the pre-Renew...

Re: [Music] The Grand Music Discussion Thread [3]

I guess it's good that the platter is isolated (well, on what amounts to a soft suspension) to prevent rumble from a bearing - but the arm is not isolated with it, so there is still a path for environmental noise and vibration. But I won't be buying one - my 60yo Garrard 301 is still quiet enough fo...

Re: [NEWS] Neon Genesis Evangelion coming to Netflix Spring 2019

I heard that this Redubbing is being done because of an error between the BluRay and Old audio. The existing dub fits alongside the blurays just fine. The reasons for a new dub are several: rights issues; significant errors; multiple cast changes in the present dubs (when DC episodes and the films ...

Re: [NEWS] Neon Genesis Evangelion coming to Netflix Spring 2019

I guess with this re-dubbing of eva; that means Netflix will only have the dub and not the sub version. Why would you think that? For Piano no mori (currently being produced by Gaina and streamed by Netflix), for instance, Netflix provides 20 sub languages, eight of which also have a dub which you ...

Re: Netflix Rights and Redub

So Netflixs have the ADV rights to Evangelion and the EOE and death and rebirth movie but they want to do a redub (With out the original cast) Unlike the original Japanese video and audio, which belongs to Khara to license out, the ADV dub is still stuck in licensing limbo. Also, although the serie...

Gaina are currently producing Mori no piano , with Netflix having worldwide streaming rights from the off. Re: [NEWS] Neon Genesis Evangelion coming to Netflix Spring 2019

I really wasn't expecting that. Not in the slightest. Why not, actually? Netflix will want to make the most of the kind of money they're probably paying for the rights - and limiting it to subs only keeps it niche and restricts its marketability for them; they'll want more than just the nerd viewers.
