Given time, this will solve itself. How much unfairness do you judge to be OK meanwhile? Would your view change if it happened to affect you personally? technology like LI-Fi will make physical infrastructure utilizing public rights-of-way obsolete. Dream on... The physical infrastructure of the ba...

Re: Net Neutrality Vote on Dec 13th! Bl

this will simply lead us to hamstringing ourselves. I would rather that development be hamstrung by a government which has in mind a neutral approach to it, and over which the voter has some slight opportunity to have a say, than by corporations which experience has already shown prefer to distort ...

Re: What anime are you watching right now? Summer 2016 to now

Kino's been pretty funny in that its best episodes are just remade episodes from the first series. What went through the minds of the creators in that they thought that these episodes needed to be made again?! Do they just hate the first series? I don't really mind it because I'm really positive ab...

Well, obviously it's no more pro child soldiers than, say, Now and Then, Here and There.

But it gives your life a framework, which is a benefit in itself quite apart from what might in the end come of completing it. So celebrate this semester's improvement (oh, yes, that's why you posted here - so, well done!).

Re: DISNEY buys FOX

The deal includes Fox's stake in the UK-based Sky News. Murdock was only this year angling to take complete control of Sky (through Fox), but now it will no longer be him even if Fox is allowed to proceed with the bid; this much is a good thing™.

Re: Pictures Thread 2.22: You Can (Not) Advance

https://cassland.org/images/2017FirstSnow.JPG Very pretty snow this morning - but the main roads around Oxford have completely closed sections, so my intended trip to London (for a 90th birthday lunch party) is sadly off. My daughter was stuck on a blocked main road for several hours, but has just ...

Re: Introduction, Toxicity of AsuShin and other things

Any parent can tell you that in real life it was almost impossible to predict how their children would turn out and what relationships they would form; the mind and the world are both too complex to know the answers to everything. In the case of the characters from Eva we have far less information t...

That can equally apply to carers, nurses, and the like - it is not the same as romantic love; the difference is not merely semantic.

Re: If Mari and Asuka are/were Gay. . .

Your NGE images barely relate to what you say; the EoE ones are from a single scene which is not even real life; the manga scene is before they even knew each other. The Rebuild scenes are more indicative - but really only when taken in isolation. (And note that I'm saying that even though I don't s...

Some people seem to have a low threshold for what they class as romance - I hope they don't get disappointed in real life.
