Re: I feel like Shinji will withdraw from everyone in 1.0+3.0

Remember that however bad Shinji's state, it will be something that can be resolved within the span of this one film.

Re: Eva Anatomy & Physiology: 2018 Edition

Looking frame by frame, and following marks or features on each piece, I see no rotation. There is a sideways shadow movement that might fool you.

Re: FML general thread [8]

Camembert is cheese. Do you know Brie? Camembert's similar, but a smaller round, a bit runnier inside, and much smellier (ammoniacal, if properly ripe).

For retro (1970's) bad-taste points, you get a very small one (sold for the purpose) and deep fry it...

My understanding is that crushes would still be possible in that situation. Also, or alternatively, a greater degree of competitiveness and/or jealousy.

Re: FML general thread [8]

It seems our (pressurised) hot water tank has sprung a leak. The plumber can get a direct replacement early next week, and install it mid-week. However, the tank is mounted so near the floor I've only got about 8mm to insert something underneath to catch the water, and about a 12mm drop to the floor...

The best, indeed.

But OTOH, why bother? If he doesn't want to watch it (stupid or not), just let him miss out.

Re: What are the "Adams"?

You are using lore about the arrival of Adam (singular) and Lilith which is proper to NGE but has not been established for Rebuild (which has multiple Adams).

Re: Should I watch the rebuilds?

By all means watch the Rebuild films if you're prepared to take them on their own terms. But if you will only consider them as a remake of the series you are likely to get very annoyed when you come to the aspects of them which are not.

Re: Shin Eva - Official Social Media

The program/plugin I used (Focus Magic) does deconvolution using a kernel based on the angle and distance of movement. How did you go about it?

Re: Shin Eva - Official Social Media

Strike that; I resized the image smaller still so the correction could reach the required amount in one hit, which produced a much more convincing result, which certainly to my eye hints at an Adam, or maybe two (see also two figures in upper part of screen?): https://cassland.org/images/EG/MotionCo...

Re: Shin Eva - Official Social Media

That's not out of focus, it's motion blur. I have an old program which attempts to correct motion blur (e.g. for forensic usage). Unfortunately, the distance of the motion is more than the program can be set to, but I have applied it twice in succession to the smaller image. I think the motion was u...

Re: Evangelion Clock screensaver v2.0. Now with Flash and stuff.

The download link is on this page (my first search didn't find it, so I figure it's useful to put it here). There doesn't seem to be any way to correct its time zone. Also, on my screen (running Windows), which is much bigger than the specified size, it screws up the sizes of windows open when it ac...

Re: These Moons Were Made For Walking (Weird Image Thread 8)

I remember this from the textbook for my high school health class, though I don't think they showed all the pictures. It's from a man who was diagnosed with schizophrenia asked to draw pictures of cats as he got worse. Not quite. Those pictures are by Louis Wain , when he was in a lunatic a...

Re: Everything is Rockin'! [RML Thread 4]

A couple of days ago I went to this concert . On the way back in the bus I was watching RahXephon on my phone. As we approached Oxford, the two students sitting next to me hesitantly asked what I was watching. When I told them they were duly surprised that I could know about anime, let alone one the...

The last part of the main -monogatari story - Zokuowarimonogatari - starts in nine days time; length and number of episodes seem to be unknown at present.
