Re: News [NO POLITICS]

Reminding us that heat rises, the organ builders who maintain the grand organ in Notre Dame have had access to inspect the instrument, and have recovered a temperature recorder which shows that the temperature inside the instrument didn't go above 17°C during the fire!

Re: News [NO POLITICS]

The West-end Cavaillé-Coll organ had essentially no water on it at all, and (according to one of the organists there) will need no more than comprehensive cleaning. The Chancel organ (which is not so old, but still well-regarded) was soaked by the water being used to prevent the choir-stalls below b...

Re: News [NO POLITICS]

Drone footage shows fire throughout the interior, so nothing much can be expected to survive in there. A recent report said that it was now thought that the walls and remaining towers will be saved. How much glass might survive is hard to imagine; not very much I suspect. https://cassland.org/images...

Re: News [NO POLITICS]

Notre Dame cathedral in Paris is on fire. The spire has collapsed, and the fire service say that all woodwork in the building will have been lost - which means also the organ. As there was on-going work to stabilise a crumbling structure, there is a real possibility that not enough of the building w...

Re: Last Movie You Watched

In 1973, Eiichi Yamamoto, director of the first Astro Boy movie and Kimba the White Lion , released one of the most psychedelic movies ever made, which was recently rescued from being lost by a new 4k restoration, including censored scenes of which only one print survived. Trippier than Mind Game , ...

From the link you give:
The project will only remake the Megazone 23 and Megazone 23 Part II original video anime releases.

Join a local club, volunteer somewhere, make it a point to try to put yourself in situations where you’re socializing with more people to possibly develop some kind of relationship with them ( be it simple acquaintance, friend, or possibly a romantic partner). This. But don't take up an activity si...

Re: [NEWS] Neon Genesis Evangelion coming to Netflix Spring 2019

what effect would Netflix telling them to shut up have anyway? They don't have a contract with them so they wouldn't be obliged to do anything. Maybe there was an NDA signed at the time of the audition, and they have been reminded of that. Maybe Funimation have told them that it reflects badly on t...

Re: Petition to get original neon Genesis evangelion dub added to Netflix

Which is an injustice to the original series Er, the original series is dubbed in Japanese. Some people (not me) see providing dubs in any other language to be a perversion... Actually, the matter of the assumed new dub has already been discussed at considerable length in this forum. The first Engl...

4 is an unlucky number in that region, I believe (like 13 in many other areas).

Re: EoE Final scene explained and connected to EoTV G.W.F Hegel.

So you're saying that Anno has told us (unless you just "know") that EoE is "a repudiation of the message and themes of EoTV"? I don't recall his saying anything as clear-cut as that.

Re: Rebuilds being a continuation of EoE?

A sequel in the traditional sense, probably not. But the titles of the final Rebuild film all but confirm some sort of connection to the original series. "3.0 + 1.0" seems to me to indicate a development from the preceding films, as you'd expect. What in the title do you think shows a rel...

Just to reinforce that, here's me at school on prize-giving day. The little medal hanging on my chest is the prize. The mortarboard is for special occasions. But the suit (you can't see the pin-stripe on the trousers) with wing collar was daily uniform wear, and the gown (which went with a particula...

Many people do not agree with that assessment.

You need to search for "Sequel Theory" and the related "[Time]Loop Theory". Here are a couple of threads from this forum to get you started: https://forum.evageeks.org/thread/6022/A-remake-or-a-sequel/ https://forum.evageeks.org/thread/13212/Sequel-theory-once-again/ But I think ...

Re: Everything is Rockin'! [RML Thread 4]

Trivia corner. In 1984, while a prince, the new Emperor designate of Japan was at Oxford University. During that time he apparently sang in the chamber choir which I also sang in (the same one I sing in again now, in fact), and I made a recording of the choir in which it is likely that he took part.
