Re: Last Movie You Watched

Went for the theatrical cut of Fifty Shades Darker . Definitely accomplished it's goals of being a better installment than it's predecessor. The Christian/Ana chemistry was radiant; idk why critics say it wasn't there; Christian's backstory is developed very nicely, and it wouldn't be a review witho...

Re: Gundam (In All Its Incarnations) Mk. II

I'll be receiving my copy of The 08th MS Team BluRay by Tuesday morning.

For a love story, we see so little Shiro/Aina interaction. Only at select points in the story and the final episode doesn't even have them say a word since it's a side quest that never got fully developed.

Re: Amanda Winn-Lee and Her Apathy toward Eva

It's official, she really hates my guts. I tried to apologize through her Facebook and Twitter pages about my mean words involving her own family members but she understandably won't hear any of it. That's what I get for abusing the power of free speech and it cost me what could've been a connection...

Re: What anime are you watching right now? Summer 2016 to now

Episodes 17 and 18 of Aquarion . At first glance, the main concepts of the episodes border on filler territory but they did bring out some beautiful renderings and meaningful monologues about team unity. Plus the OP song finally changed by ep. 18 which for a 26 episode series would raise flags about...

Re: The James Bond Thread

As far as the Pierce Brosnan films and I are concerned, Goldeneye is a must see and must repeat frequently with interesting enough, Die Another Day as not that much of a guilty pleasure but a callback to the Roger Moore days of Bond silliness. The World Is Not Enough is slightly more memorable and b...

Re: Shin Gojira (a.k.a. Godzilla Resurgence)

Finally gave in and watched the Resurgence version of the movie since no theater in my country has the uncut version. It was a very well rounded reboot which made excellent use of most of the central characters; I say "most" because despite Satomi Ishihara getting third top billing, pretty...

Re: Last Movie You Watched

Showgirls (1995) Absolutely delightful! The rivalry between Nomi and Cristal is sizzling and electrifying. One thing I didn't like was that the movie hammers in the fact that most of the male characters are soulless scumbags who want to get you into bed the easy or the hard way and also that despit...

Re: Last Movie You Watched

Halloween (1978) A great scary movie that takes full advantage of the night atmosphere to produce scares that still hold up to this day. I never fully realized how little of a role Donald Pleasance had despite him getting top billing over Jamie Lee Curtis who is given nearly all the screen time whi...

Re: [Music] Songs on repeat

Can't believe it took me literally decades to get into Depeche Mode... :um: In particular, "Enjoy the Silence" which they may have gone on record and said that Failure's cover of it is the best version around but I say different and lean more towards the original. As for Ki:Theory, I tried...

Re: News of Anime in Japan

Don't get me wrong, I really want a new Megazone 23 project to happen but if it suspiciously sounds like Macross Delta what with the idol group being talked about, I would rather not. Plus MC Sakura just oozes Freyja Wion homage. :um: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2017-04-18/new-megazone-23-a...

Re: What anime are you watching right now? Summer 2016 to now

Finally finished my Rahxephon TV series experience with eps. 25 and 26. To me, it felt like an easier to follow finale than the series it clearly was inspired by which was Eva. Gotta give the show credit for establishing one of my all time favorite romantic relationships in the form of Ayato and Har...

Re: What anime are you watching right now? Summer 2016 to now

Even though I managed to see the first episode of Digimon Adventure tri. Ketsui , I just cannot get behind this episodic way of telling the story. They always seem to cut off at the most important times and I am sick of it. Guess I won't be shelving out my money for a copy of the English DVD when it...

Re: What anime are you watching right now? Summer 2016 to now

Just got done watching Patlabor 2: The Movie on BluRay. Astounding visuals for it's time and an intriguing plot that didn't even have to rely on Labor action until the end. Any anime film that can keep me engaged on political and post-war chatter for it's nearly two hour runtime deserves heaps of pr...

Re: What anime are you watching right now? Summer 2016 to now

I have in my over 15 year history of watching hentai seen a lot but until today, I have never seen the tragic void that is left on a poor soul when all hope for some semblance of happily ever after is stripped away. I refer to the 2 episode OVA called The Big Boob Lady Who Was Impregnated By A Delin...

Unfortunately, Puerto Rico doesn't have that luxury. That is to say the film never came out on this rinky dink island. :(

Re: Shin Gojira (a.k.a. Godzilla Resurgence)

IDK if I am in the minority thinking this but I held off on watching this movie until it comes out in uncut form without the 20 minute editing job the internet version left us. If I should go ahead and pay these cuts no mind because they are in fact superficial at best and enjoy the experience, feel...

Fudoh: The New Generation (1996)

My new favorite Takashi Miike film which I can certainly watch repeatedly because even though it does have it's moments of wanton violence, it's somewhat tamer than later productions like Audition and Ichi the Killer.

Re: What anime are you watching right now? Summer 2016 to now

Watched episode 7 of Masamune-kun's Revenge. Tons of fanservice especially from the big boobied crazy chaperone and the horror movie setup at night brought some well deserved hijinks. :D
