Re: What anime are you watching right now? Summer 2016 to now

A) There isn't much focus on the actual work. B) It's another anime show that exists in a strange post-apocalyptic utopia where all men have died off C) It's a show about female camaraderie that is still loaded with misplaced fan service & awkward ass + tits shots because it's made primarily by...

Thanks!

It's been a good day so far, playing Golden Axe and Streets of Rage with my brother. I just wish it wasn't so hot in here.

Re: Gundam (In All Its Incarnations) Mk. II

As long as they don' use CGI, I'm all for this. Although I do wonder if this ever came to be, if they would release in an OVA format, like Unicorn or something else of that nature. A regular series sounds unlikely.

Re: What manga are you reading right now?

I've finished Devilman , Shin Devilman and Devilman Lady and it was a ride. Go Nagais writing style is very excentric? at times, but most of the time it doesn't detract from the overall experience. The art is also weird at times, the anatomy of the characters can be wonky but such missteps aresuplan...

Re: What anime are you watching right now? Summer 2016 to now

Finished Owarimonogatari Season 2 and I was struck by how some moments impacted me more than they would have had before I watched the Kizumonogatari movies. I wish the movies were released earlier, as several of the best dramatic moments in the series seem to have much more impact if you watched sai...

Re: News of Anime in Japan

This is amazing news. MAPPA has finally a director who knows how to structure and write a story and actually has a vision beyond grim-deep-cool. Hey man, Garo(the first season) and Singeki no Bahamut have good direction! Anyway, this makes me happy. Yurikuma was good, but a letdown compared to Ikuh...

Re: What anime are you watching right now? Summer 2016 to now

How needlessly nihilistic/mean spirited is it? Huh... well, having read the manga by now, I can say that the first two OVAs don't even get to the worst(and best, depending on how you see it) parts of the manga. It's a show that delves(much more strongly in the original manga) about what it means to...

Re: Massive Object Lurking Beneath Antarctica

turns out to be something boring and mundane. It might be something of great scientific importance but, unless you're already into this sort of stuff, the discovery will likely not send any big waves across the world. Big discoveries are made all the time. Most people simply don't care. Or said dis...

Re: Currently playing 4: Guns of the Patriots

Nier: Automata : Before anything else, I should say I haven't played any of the previous installments in the series and I don't plan to unless they release a version with the original language(yes, I know Drakengard 3 has the Japanese voices has DLC). I'm not playing with those godawful English dub...

Re: Souls Series (Dark Souls, Demon's Souls, Bloodborne)

I'm done with Dark Souls. I've finished Dark Souls 3 and have little to say other than it's more of the same. If you liked the previous installments in the franchise, you'll like this one.The story gets a fittingly epic conclusion. This particular title feels much more like a sequel than Dark Souls ...

Re: What anime are you watching right now? Summer 2016 to now

In preparation for the upcoming Devilman anime(which looks amazing, ugly flash animation aside) I've decided to watch the first two Devilman OVAs . Judging the story in these is a bit difficult, seeing as they are missing the final act of the manga, but the parts that they do adapt are great. The fi...

Re: Which anime of today will be considered future classics?

^ Can classics be tarnished by sequels, or will they just be forgotten in time? But isn't Anime an inherently too trashy medium to be remembered long enough to forget the bad sequels? Are sequels different than reboots in that regard? For the first question, do you know a single case of a sequel/re...
