Re: Was Lilin Evolution Artificially Guided?

I find it hilarious that Eva-verse humans work the same way as orks from 40k.

Rei is the saddest. Can you imagine being a god shoved into a doughy frame held together with drugs and duct tape?

Re: Last Movie You Watched

I've always loved that one. I love comedies that don't have an ironic tone and just let things be funny because they're funny.

It completely rips apart the teen movie without being mean to the teen movie.

Re: Godzilla & Kaiju General!

I don't really want to see another Edwards movie. He's a one trick pony and should stay away from anything that involves actual characters.

If he made a dialogue-free movie about inhuman aliens or monsters I think that would turn out very well and be quite enjoyable.

Re: Your Stupidest Eva Interpretations

Mari is an actual, miniature, self-sustaining Evangelion unit. This is why she likes LCL so much. She sees the act of entering and piloting another Eva unit as something far more deviant and sexual than even Matt Greenfield's wildest interpretations of the franchise. Chuckman says: This is now canon.

That's why I think it should be done with stop motion instead of rubber suits. Making the Evas and Angels physical objects that move unnaturally would be perfect. The hyperrealism of CGI would be inappropriate.

Oh dear god we agree on something.

I can't wait for Sunday. Game of Thrones, then Twin Peaks! I have to watch GOT first since I watch it with someone.

Re: Last Movie You Watched

FWWM is a masterpiece. Tarantino said this of it: "After I saw Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me at Cannes, David Lynch had disappeared so far up his own ass that I have no desire to see another David Lynch movie until I hear something different. And you know, I loved him. I loved him." He sho...

About forty million adjusted for inflation, but I would expect it to actually be higher. Blockbuster movie making is more expensive now and the kind of location shooting, etc. on the first Star Wars would be very costly today.

He's going to look like some sort of stock villain no matter how he does his hair.

Short Hair Tarantino: Creepy pervert henchman

Long Hair Tarantino: Business mogul mastermind villain

Shaved Tarantino: James Bond Villain

...now I'm sad he'll never shave his head and play a Bond villain.

Re: What are you watching right now? (tv series + see OP!)

Frost is responsible for almost all of the world building. The Tibetan stuff, Lodges, etc are all him and he wrote the Secret History of Twin Peaks. I think their visions gel really well together and he brings a kind of order to Lynch's chaos. They're both interested in the same things from differen...

Re: What are you watching right now? (tv series + see OP!)

The first scene is good, the second season is spotty because it runs long and is heavy on the soap opera plots and Lynch/Frost both left the show, and some of the momentum died because of demands the network made on the plot.

Advertising something with a bunch of hot girls in it by putting them all together is as old as things with hot girls in them.

My headcanon is that Mari went down to the engineering department and demanded that they remove any support from the new suits and add some elastic to make them extra bouncy.

Last night: Castlevania, the Netflix series.

First season is only four episodes, but it's damn good and written/produced by Warren Ellis.

It's already approved for another season, this time eight eps. I hope they keep going with it, it's very strong.
