Re: FML general thread [8]

Throw out whatever recipe you're using. make a roux, throw in 3-5 mild meltable cheeses a little a time until you get the consistency you want, make sure you undercook the macaroni by 3 minutes before mixing it, and let it simmer for a while. Spread a less melty cheese on top (like cheddar) or crack...

It is a generational dark fantasy movie, the kind that comes along once in a blue moon.

No creativity was surrendered if the computer was their creative project to begin with. No fowl here. Honestly, I cannot wait for the day when computers take over writing and creating the micro-managed summer blockbuster mass-produced movie products that clutter our screens. Blockbusters as a uniqu...

South Park is a memetic poison that spreads pernicious ironies, may all involved with it walk forever on legos upon the far shores.

Re: Star Wars

The first Jurassic Park is no "masterpiece," at least not in the typical sense of the term, but it is far better than most people realize it is. Jaws is actually Spielberg's masterpiece, imo. There are hints of the "replace guns with walkie talkies in re-releases of ET" Spielber...

Re: Last Movie You Watched

Dune deserves a massive adaptation, both in screen time and in the cast, locations, sets, effects, etc. It deserves a Lord of the Rings treatment from a director who loves the work as Jackson loved his material. My ideal would be a Cecil B. DeMille type thing, with vivid colors, bombastic stage acto...

Re: Last Movie You Watched

People who read the book first usually hate it.

It's a very rushed, borderline nonsensical movie. The first half until Paul reaches the desert is good, but after that it's like they gave up and decided to explore the rest of the plot via montage.

It's the American NGE on many levels. It's a confrontation of our entire belief system.

I watched Dune. It's very Dune. I think it's too short, the sound shit is dumb and Lynch was probably the perfect director for it.
