Re: Last Movie You Watched

I can't remember the name of the weird twerp who's the corporate point man on gutting Jurassic Park as a concept, but he's pretty open about Jurassic World 2 being a corporate-mandated stepping stone to the "Planet of the Raptors" movie they actually want to make, which will also be aggres...

Re: Celebrity RIP Thread

They apparently have stocked cameos for several more movies but I'd prefer it if they did one more as a tribute and let the rest go.

Shin Godzilla definitely has an element of satire. It's not the main focus but it's there.

Re: How grimdark is Evangelion?

Evangelion is grim and dark, but does not cross over into grimdark because it doesn't rise to the level of self parody. A world where humanity is on the edge of extermination and people are making horrific choices to survive, with the struggles of our lives taken to irrational and horrifying extreme...

One day the student after many years found a village called Pogo, and that village called Pogo was at the foot of Mount Hikikimori. The student spoke to each of the villagers and said to them, I have quested after wisdom and I have no found it. I have gone to the monks and they did not have it. I ha...

Re: Shane Black & Fred Dekker to make PREDATOR Sequel

I would accept the explanation for the AvP setting, except that Antarctica was ice-locked before humans evolved, wasn't it? The flashbacks showed the predators using humans to grow the xenomorphs. I was ill and couldn't get out much so I didn't get to a theater for The Predator, sadly. I'll have to ...

Re: Star Wars Episode II - A New Thread

Star Wars is about something because it didn’t try to be about something. The prequels and sequels get ham handed with it and suffer as a result.

That’s a good way to describe Last Jedi, though. It tried to be about something.

Do, or do not. There is no try.

Re: Godzilla & Kaiju General!

Netflix’s anime Godzilla trilogy has suffered in some ways from the staggered method of its release. The installments have been spaced out about six months apart from each other so that the movies could enjoy a theatrical run in Japan before their worldwide Netflix release. In retrospect, this is a...
