Oh man, Dennou Coil is a blast to watch. It's vision of the future is still interesting, even if the show is already 10 years old. Maybe because it was prophetic, in a way. The CGI might look a little bit dated, but the overall visual style more than makes up for it! You should give it a try!

Seems nice, if a little bit "safe"? Like an off-brand version of Radiohead's The Bends.
I've been listening to the new Beach House and MGMT records recently. No masterpieces, but I enjoy them a lot!

Re: FLCL: Seasons 2 and 3

Shot composition looks better than in Alternative. Animation seems very clunky, though. I'm especially baffled by the off-model faces. I'll hold out hope, even if I fear, Progressive and Alternative will be 7/10 across the board, not bad, but still tarnishing the the name of a classic, lol. Then aga...

Re: News of Anime in Japan

^ This news makes me really happy. Dennou Coil is amazing, and criminally little known. The character animation still is leagues above what we get in average anime. I'm super happy about the fact, that the character design is from the guy who designed the characters in Gundam G Reconquista and Eurek...

I have the same necktie, lol. I like your videos. I'm kinda sad that all the ideas you had for videos you've announced some time ago didn't come to fruition.

It really is. To it's credit, the first two-three "movies" are not as bad. But on the whole this project is the definition of quick cash grab. Just watch the Shinka on Youtube and skip the rest. Also the newly recorded versions of Butterfly are beautiful.

What they are tweeting about now: http://forum.evageeks.org/post/878474/New-Cruel-Angels-Thesis-remaster-June-20/#878474 I don't think the 20th rerelease of Cruel Angel's Thesis needs its own thread. (Sick cover for a sick song, tho.) It would be nice, if you could merge that post over there with t...

#これを見た人は青い画像を貼れ

seems to be a game right now on Japanese twitter. Might be trending?
I'd translate it as "post something blue"

Re: What anime are you watching right now? Summer 2016 to now

Ninja Batman This was super fun, the English dub is actually pretty swell! Not only the script made me giggle a lot, but also the visual inventiveness! There's so many fun visual ideas big and small, it's a blast to watch. This is goofy fun executed perfectly. I mean, it's basically dozens of fun i...

The girl you've posted is basically guilty as charged. It's everything DarkBluePhoenix' post was an exaggeration of. It's a red women with lots of muscles.

If that turns out to be a childbirth- or insamination-ceremony, instead of a generic wedding, I will buy all the blu-rays.

Re: Darling in the Franxx (Studio Trigger)

The overall structure of Franxx reminds me of Utena. Only with two acts instead of three. I'm curious as to when the ominous hammer will finally fully drop on the cast, lol.

Re: Evangelion Official Social Media - Biding Time to Shin Eva

While Q was in cinemas, they've sold this companion-book as merchandise in the cinemas. Despite not being able to read Japanese, I've bought it, because the posters were already sold out. Additional to all the stuff you find in the booklet for 3.33, it contained interviews with the voice actors, whi...

Re: Digimon: Digital Monsters

Digimon Tri 6 It's sad man. While the story-telling was at least competent, and the characters are still kind of entertaining to watch - everything else devolved into a disaster. The actual plot consisted of a series of ass-pulls. (You are another form of the Digimon that attacked us recently, I'm ...

Re: What anime are you watching right now? Summer 2016 to now

I've took some time to watch some Anime! I think my burn-out might be recovered enough to not be bothered by everything any longer? I'm 6 Episodes deep into Megalobox . What brought me back in the first place was the amazing, and I really mean it, breathtaking sense of style. I can't remember a show...

Re: Final Fantasy series

Yeah, I've watched some videos. I've become spoiled. I can't handle the slow tempo of VIII/IX anymore, lol. I don't even think a speed-up option would help, since I don't think that would make it any more fun. It also always struck me as weird, because the ATB has become a farce in those games, as t...

Re: Final Fantasy series

^ I, too think that VII aged very well. One can play it today, no problem. I guess that you think that way because you know it for the longest time, I know how it feels. I was very not happy with almost every change they did to Majora's Mask 3D, even if my brain told me it was "for the better&q...
