Re: [NEWS] Neon Genesis Evangelion coming to Netflix Spring 2019

Funimation has streaming services!? Funimation keeps talking candidly about things. (I guess some manager is really grumpy things didn't go his way this year, huh?) Also they said they wanted Funi Now for hardcore fans and wanted to use Hulu to keep the filthy casuals contained. Additionally,...

Re: Shin Eva - Official Social Media

Jo and Ha are getting a streaming (I think) run in Japan, strangely enough on almost every service but Netflix. Maybe Anno decided to retcon Q and Shin Eva will be a complete rewind to right after 2.22, lol. (I mean, it could be kind of interesting.... I don't see anything super interesting happen ...

Re: [NEWS] Neon Genesis Evangelion coming to Netflix Spring 2019

How long before Netflix throws some bucks at Khara to make an Evangelion sequel or live action movie? 'Neon Genesis Evangelion Anima: A Netflix Original.' Be careful what you wish for. Bebop is Happening right now, so many other Anime stuff is happening right now. So if Eva turns in the right...

I think those might have been used by animators to remain in the proper aspect ratio of Evangelion:Q.

Re: News [NO POLITICS]

^ I recognize that, I wanna know what would compel consumers to use a product that's inferior to what they already have. I mean, if it had a market share like PayPal, with which you can pay everywhere online without giving 20 different sellers your information, I'd understand it. But as it is? I jus...

Re: News [NO POLITICS]

Apple Pay launches in Germany Austria's still not on the map, I guess the Austrian banks are equally bitchy to work with as were the German ones. Though I'm sure, they'll have a breakthrough soon... And given the prominence Austrian brands in some Eastern European countries, those countries might f...

^ It is definitely a departure from her other stuff. While her music was never super simple (and clean, lol), it wasn't exactly challenging the status quo either. These new songs are experimenting with song structure, which makes them a little bit more challenging to digest, albeit a much more inter...

Re: [NEWS] Neon Genesis Evangelion coming to Netflix Spring 2019

long explanation of how I overreacted I admit I might have conflated the bad behavior of certain fans with the sup-par work of the actors to generate a fake enemy-figure I could rage against. At the end he says Funimation really wanted Evangelion, so it sounds to me like Netflix may have outbid the...

Re: Gundam (In All Its Incarnations) Mk. II

I'm sorry. I really want to like it, but Tomino's style quickly turns form utter fascination, to burnt-out exhaustion in a matter of Minutes.
War in a Pocket is the one everybody seems to agree on being a masterpiece, so I might try that next.

Re: Gundam (In All Its Incarnations) Mk. II

^ While this is an extreme example, this is pretty close to the norm for people working in animation. People are trying to generate awareness for years now. Things seemingly slowly start to change. I've tried watching Gundam Unicorn and Blood Ironed Orphans and stopped due to utter boredom, then I t...

Re: Netflix: Ghost in the Shell - Sac 2045...

Yeah, but it was the prestige opening to a high-budged show. So the quality far exceeded what the actual show would have looked like. My question is, if technology has caught up sufficiently enough, to produce a whole TV-series on a level above the 3D opening from 15 years ago.

Re: [NEWS] Neon Genesis Evangelion coming to Netflix Spring 2019

I agree, but, again, that’s why “professionalism” is a loosely defined term in creative jobs. Hmm... I'm working in the creative industry as well... and generally speaking, -the better known one is, -the better one's work is, and especially, -the more indispensable one is, (in particular how much m...

Re: Netflix: Ghost in the Shell - Sac 2045...

I just hope it's better than the 3D CG in the opening for GitS:SAC
I mean, I really enjoyed the aesthetic choice as an opening, it also has great art direction. But a whole series? Hm...
Also, the music is phenomenal. And Origa's voice... Rest in Piece. :(

Re: [NEWS] Neon Genesis Evangelion coming to Netflix Spring 2019

Also: maybe the petition numbers being so low means that Netflix wouldn't even give all this fuss much consideration, anyway? Which makes me really hopeful, that the number of those blinded by nostalgia is extremely low. (From here on out though, I'll also just sit and  ) Which I'm sure is...

Re: Evangelion 3.0+1.0: 2020

The technology is not there yet, Khara has always pushed the Envelope when it comes to 3DCG in Anime - I feel like that's a big reason NTE exist, to fund exactly that. it's a lot more expensive (if I remember correctly a 3DCG animator has a paycheck 10x bigger than a 2D animator), Is that true? Eve...

Re: Netflix: Ghost in the Shell - Sac 2045...

It should be a crime to do this sort of crap to beloved franchises. I don't mind that they try to develop 3D further. Compared to how much the 2D look has degraded in recent years, the industry has made great strides in managing to make 3D look acceptable, and I feel like this work in particular ha...

Re: SSSS Gridman - Studio Trigger (2018)

If the show is on Crunchyroll, they let you watch all of it except for the latest Episode. I don't have qualms about pirating, because the industry is almost entirely producing shit. I want to give money to shows I wanna support instead of showering the industry monthly via streaming subscriptions. ...

Re: [NEWS] Neon Genesis Evangelion coming to Netflix Spring 2019

It's a catch 22, really. It is very unprofessional to petition. They petition, because they desperately need work. They need work, because they act in an unprofessional manner.
