Hang in there. It's painful, but necessary. I just hope, I'll never have to relate to Gendou... Wouldn't mind relating to Fuyutsuki that much, though.

Pokemon 2000 I have never seen this one. It was a fun Pokemon movie. It satisfied my cravings for childhood nostalgia just fine. A finely executed exciting adventure movie. 6/10 The short before the main movie was super cute, tho. 8/10 I think it made me develop a sweet spot for well animated cute ...

Re: Tomie's True Identity? - An Analysis of Junji Ito's Horror Manga

I've watched your video, after it popped up in my subscription list. I've never read any of Ito's Tomie Manga, I should check it out now... Ray has a point though: explaining the horror is like explaining the joke, kinda subtracts from the experience. Still, it was an interesting video! I've read Uz...

This trailer left me in tears. If all of it is this level of hilarious, I need to watch this.

Re: What anime are you watching right now? Summer 2016 to now

Made in Abyss This show reignited my interest in Anime. After Fall 2016 I was thoroughly burned out. I’ve followed too many shows, also life was steadily getting busier and I my tolerance for Anime tropes reached a new low. But then this show opened with a fascinating premise, brought to live throu...

Re: Revolutionary Girl Utena

I put this on-hold. I know people love Utena to death, but I couldn't pass through it. That's interesting, I found it amazing all the way through. I actually wasn't that into the finale, as I found the character writing prior to it to be extremely fascinating and one step above most Anime. I especi...

Re: Digimon: Digital Monsters

Digimon Adventure Tri Movie 5 This being shown on the big screen is just baffling to me, the poor level animation would barely be acceptable for TV-series standards. There is no theatrical quality in any aspect of its presentation. This is embarrassing for an anniversary project, compared to what G...

^ Sorry, I can't remember that one. Have you figured something out yet? I've played Little Nightmares . What a fun little game, it's very competent and has some really neat ideas. I've also "played" Night in the Woods As I'm not from America this thing was mostly culturally interesting in ...

Re: Blade Runner franchise

I've never managed to finish Blade Runner. Too many boring bits intercept truly great moments. I love the aesthetic tho. Ryan Gosling alone makes everything great due to sexiness. So I'm looking forward to 2049. Also, I've watched Blade Runner Black Out 2022 Watanabe still has his shit together. Now...

Re: What are you watching right now? (tv series + see OP!)

Twin Peaks Season 3 I’ve never managed to finish the second season, or watch the movie. But I love David Lynches vision and worlds. So having 18 hours of undiluted Lynch anchored in reality due to Frost’s writing is a delicious treat. It’s a very simple story told at a snails pace. But it’s filled ...

Re: Last Movie You Watched

^ Good choice. I've heard Mother is just a failed attempt at making something EoE already did perfectly. Is that true? Should I rewatch EoE to get my dose of brilliance? Or is Mother the spiritual LA version? The Handmaiden I loved Oldboy (wow, how controversial) and Stoker , so once I learned this ...

Re: Rick and Morty

I need to say something. I've just watched the finale of S3. I love this show so much. The sheer density of stuff going on at all times never ceases to amaze me. It’s simultaneously being hilarious while still offering amazing character drama. This is the best dramedy out there, period. I just hope ...

Re: What anime are you watching right now? Summer 2016 to now

I've watched both Kizumonogatari pt3 & Owarimonogatari S2 Both are perfect accumulations of what the franchise grew to represent. Weird, true, artificial, beautiful, opaque, impenetrable. Newcomers won't start here anyways, but for all who have sticked around for all those years, these two insta...

Re: Let's Watch NGE Together! Unofficial Commentary Thread

^ I'd argue that Misato is a character with wrong or lacking knowledge - her knowledge is confined to what she needs to know to deal with the attacks. So the emergency color here even adds another dimension. I love this thread. There's a few little things I've never noticed, or seen that way before ...

Re: News of Anime in Japan

I'm with Ray on Terror in Resonance . Joy Evangelion is right, that it was still awesomely directed (as expected by Watanabe), but the script fell terribly short to go anywhere. Especially the fact that nobody died due to the terror acts kind of broke it for me. This decision alone bereft that show ...
