Uh, isn't Star Trek the "American Gundam?" Wait, what exactly does that term mean anyway?

I am (mostly) a fan of Moviebob, and this could well be one of his most entertaining reviews. He just sounds so gosh-darn excited about it.

It'll hopefully make up its budget in the European and Asian markets.

The box office returns are especially depressing when you read about what a grueling time the Wachowskis had getting it financed in the first place. They were begging and pleading and put up a lot of their own money as well.

I would give a lot to have that moronic "No! This isn't really me!" scene fixed.

With this same message (and a donation) I've also finally convinced him to review... something . :shifty: Before the 1.11 and 2.22 announcement, I was actually sort of considering the idea of requesting a review of EoE. Since that would also require viewing the whole series as well thou...

He said people's whining comments about the ending were discouraging him. I've been following him for years, but I've never sent him an email before. That remark moved me to action, so I gave him an alternate perspective on the matter (ie. both endings are brilliant).

But then look at these verses: Once did a pony who shone like the sun Look out on her kingdom and sigh She smiled and said, "Surely, there is no pony So lovely and so well beloved as I" So great was her reign and so brilliant her glory That long was the shadow she cast Which fell dark upon...

Until there's a large group of animators who are willing to work for months and years without getting paid + distributors/advertisers who are willing to burn their own money, I'm afraid that paying for the creation of this most expensive artform will always be a concern. If you're going...

It's a great song. Still, while both the singing and lyrics are quite amazing, I somewhat resent the idea put forth that Luna's fall is somehow Celestia's fault. Is there no avenue where people won't try to put her down so they can elevate Luna?

No matter how nuanced these anti-moe attitudes may be they're the consumers desire to see the industry catering to his specific taste. I assume that's what all of us really want. Otsuki on the other hand isn't speaking as a consumer. Well, me... I'm an idealist. I'd prefer it if...

I see a difference between them though. One is saying that he can't make anime aimed at younger teens any longer because the don't have the disposable income of older fans which will hinder growth in the long term. The other just hates cute girls. Are you serious ? You don't think that&...

To me this is actually a good business decision since NGE was a work of art in its own way and now new generations are going to be looking at this as the "starting point" of when they got into Eva. It's kinda like if Akira Toriyama wanted to add onto the DBZ franchise by using the new...

Frankly, I simply cannot reconcile this talk about NME's big damn goals (however vaguely defined the idea of "creating the foundation for creating the next Eva" is) with the fact that all their original plans were completely scrapped and redone. Even if they know what they want...

I discovered something pretty amazing recently. Someone drew fan art for my very own pony fanfic. Here it is. It's a pretty fine piece, in my humble opinion. That's not all though. I did a little digging, and... not only did someone draw fan art of my story, someone else has done anthro bond...

The novel is somewhat great, but it suffers from exactly the problem you might assume - some of the segments are better than others (though none are bad). It still demonstrates some amazing versatility on part of Mitchell though. I have high hopes for the movie, even if I don't... uh, qu...

Re: Voyeurism. B/

I thought Wonder Woman's new outfit was actually pretty good (liked it a lot better than the original), but Carol Danvers' and Power Girl's were both boring as hell (that's not saying much in Danvers' case, since her original version was also boring as hell). You...

Some quibbles: First, I believe Rei is not fully aware of her own nature. There is no indication to me that Rei has ever stopped to consider that she is an artificial human being. 1. "If I die, I can be replaced." I don't believe that line simply referred to another pilot taking her pl...
