Re: From Your Lips to the Author's Ears: Story Ideas

I've had some... thoughts, and have decided to share them. This idea itself is extremely bare-bones at the moment (due to a few reasons), but it... could have some potential? Whatever the case, I'll slap it (and the other two) under a spoiler. First one: The idea itself is actually pretty short. Ba...

Re: Shin Gojira (a.k.a. Godzilla Resurgence)

Godzilla being stiff as a board when he's hibernating due to lack of energy is less of a flaw and more of the whole point. I can't think of very many reptiles or lizards who are quite active during (or after having been disrupted from) hibernation. Yeah, given that he was frozen he should have been...

Re: News of Anime in Japan

Don't get me wrong, I really want a new Megazone 23 project to happen but if it suspiciously sounds like Macross Delta what with the idol group being talked about, I would rather not. Plus MC Sakura just oozes Freyja Wion homage. :um: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2017-04-18/new-megazone-23-...

Re: News [NO POLITICS]

I'm not really sure I see an issue with Kotaku from the article to be honest. I think people talking about and sharing stuff like that about game dev is cool, despite the fact that it might be "common knowledge" to some. Agreed. what I got from that was mostly "Twitter users suck,&qu...

Re: Shin Gojira (a.k.a. Godzilla Resurgence)

The CGI of Babyzilla is fine. Everything moves great, the weight distribution is dramatic yet believable, the texturing is fine, the rendering is good, the compositing is seemless, and the interaction between it and the miniatures and the live-action material is awesome. The design of Babyzilla see...

Re: Last Movie You Watched

I was gonna say, between the vorpal bunny and Bun-Bun, to say nothing of experience with irascible angoras, I have no problem whatsoever taking rabbits seriously as a threat. They're certainly no worse than, say, rats . . .

Re: Anno statements about End of Evangelion

The closest he came to a definitive answer was probably here . The final paragraph is particularly relevant: "Evangelion is like a puzzle, you know. Any person can see it and give his/her own answer. In other words, we're offering viewers to think by themselves, so that each person can imagine ...

Re: FanFiction Requests/Recommendations/Discussion etc.

:cringe: Ugh! Got to give Kudos to Adam Kadmon for creating probably the most nihilistic and depressing Eva fic that would make Rebuild look like an MLP episode. I was in a funk for days after reading this fic. :P Thankfully, some shots of RE-TAKE, Second Try, and other WAFF fics perked me back up....

Re: Star Wars

R1 is just a few years before Empire, and it's completely understandable that they would be using similar models (outfitted different, of course) for the Battle of Hoth. However, this is taking place 30 years after ROTJ. AT-TEs were used in the Clone Wars and were of a radically different design co...

Re: Star Wars

They are really gonna throw Walkers in also? :um: This is kinda like saying, "geez, another WWII movie with tanks?" It's a nonsensical objection, since tanks were everywhere in WWII. The same should be true with walkers in SW -- they're a stock part of the Empire's military, and should sh...

Re: Transition guides

I think that there are too many indications that the spirit guides have an element of physical reality to them to be simply brushed off as inscrutable Eva weirdness. There are a lot of downright bizarre and "impossible" things in EoE that must be accepted as actually happening in some sen...

Re: What anime are you watching right now? Summer 2016 to now

Finally finished my Rahxephon TV series experience with eps. 25 and 26. To me, it felt like an easier to follow finale than the series it clearly was inspired by which was Brave Raideen. FTFY. (Seriously, Anno even pointed this out in interviews. Everything you think RahXephon lifted from Eva was c...

Re: Star Wars

There were some good details in there, actually. The space battle looks better than anything we got in TFA, and the overall feeling I got from it is that it'll be a bit less ad hoc than TFA was. I'm optimistic.

Re: Transition guides

I'm seeing a lot of "this couldn't have happened", but not as much of "this is actually what happened, but Anno chose to depict it in such a way because..." " . . . of reasons that are heavily subject to interpretation, which suggests we should't get too invested in any par...

Re: Transition guides

Note we see Rei 2 interacting with the aftermath of Gendo's transition. Are you also conflicted about whether this actually happens...? Since Rei II is long since dead and Rei III has been absorbed into Lilith by that point, well . . . I think using that scene as evidence of much of anything going ...

Re: Transition guides

Now, what are exactly the mechanics behind the transition guides that come to turn the party into a pool of LCL? As far as i do understand, they are the ones to ''guide'' the souls to instrumentality, but i do not understand how they actually do this. I'm not even sure they're a thing per se so muc...
