I just watched the camrip last night (I'm awful, I know) and Mari was on screen for maybe five minutes total, and only ever interacted with Shinji outside of fighting Evas. I just find it odd, considering she's been the poster-child (get it?) for 2.0 for a while now.

Just wondering if anyone here who lives in Japan, or has some other connection, knows what the public's general view of 2.0 is? I've seen reviews and such, but I'm more interested in crowd reactions - on a scale of say, The Dark Knight to Transformers 2, how did 2.0 fare?
