Re: Mari Breaking the Loop?

Anyways, I think the idea of Mari tinkering with the SDAT is very interesting, because it would imply that she has at least some degree of thought and planning of her actions shrouded beneath her careless exterior. It would add some much needed depth to her character, is what I'm trying to say. I c...

Re: Key of Nebuchadnezzer Speculation

I think whatever was in the syringe (because that is exactly what I think it is) was used on Shinji to control him. That's weird, since Shinji has been controlled since movie 1, and Gendo didn't get the syringe until movie 2. Also, we never see the syringe used on Shinji, despite the fact that the ...

Re: Key of Nebuchadnezzer Speculation

“Nebuchadnezzar” is a pain to type in an iPhone. I’m gonna call him “Nebby-cun” from here on out.

Also, does Nebby’s key mirror an aspect of William Blake’s art? I need to google search this...

Re: Key of Nebuchadnezzer Speculation

Can Lilith even be said to have a hubris? There’s nothing in Eva that suggests that she has human-like emotions. (Unless we wanna bring Rei into all of this, but she wasn’t all that proud either.) I think it’s all reflecting Gendo’s hubris somehow. He holds the Key of Nebuchadnezzar, so any thematic...

Re: Mari Breaking the Loop?

^ Well, even TV Tropes makes this mistake, stating that NTE is impossible to understand unless the audience has already seen the original TV series. First of all, the original TV series loves to go as long as possible without explaining anything . As a result, there aren't any real explicit explanat...

Re: List of future promotional events?

It’s only numbers like that which make me feel as though this wait is insufferable. But, at the same time, we’ve have three Eva movies between 2007 and 2017. That cannot be said for the years 1997 through 2007. We’ve been doing pretty good.

Re: Mari Breaking the Loop?

Honestly, the biggest, in-universe strike against Sequel/Loop Theory as portrayed in that image is the fact that all of the adult characters call the Impact that turned oceans into blood “Second Impact,” which all of the characters agree happened 15 years before Eva Jo. Seeing as how this means that...

Re: Godzilla & Kaiju General!

Godzilla 1985 has one thing over the Japanese version, and that is participation from at least one member of the 1950's production. Toho wanted Ishiro Honda to direct, but since the Japanese studio system finally ended, Honda didn't feel any need to direct a film in a series he said should have ende...

Re: Mari Breaking the Loop?

I’m not against new ideas. Those ideas just need to be verified within the text, and not be contingent upon what some other future text might say. I personally am entertaining the theory that Mari is a miniaturized, self-sustaining, fully autonomous Evangelion Unit. (This is why she likes LCL so muc...

Re: Pacific Rim

^ I agree, but Hollywood seems to be on the hunt for the grimmer titles in whatever genre it's attempting to harvest. (Ghost in the Shell, Akira, Death Note, ect...) So I don't think Gundam is in as much danger of a needless American remake as Evangelion is. Also, Eva is one of the first of the gian...

Re: Superhero/Comic Based Films & Tv - Vol.2

The trailer is nothing but money shots all strung together. I have no idea what the story is, and we usually get a glimps into it this late on the game.

To be fair, 3 hours of nothing but money shots would be an improvement on MoS, BvS, and Squad Goals. Wonder Woman still might be better, though.
